New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2023
I had a really good reading year in 2023, and I feel like I discovered quite a few new-to-me authors that I will definitely keep reading from. Do we have any in common?
Sweeney Boo with their graphic novel, Over My Dead Body
Aiden Thomas with their YA fantasy, The Sunbearer Trials
C. L. Polk with their novella, Even Though I Knew the End
Sarah Gailey with their fantasy novel, Magic for Liars
Travis Baldree with their cozy fantasy, Legends & Lattes
Abby Jimenez, with a few of her contemporary romance novels, but definitely Part of Your World and Yours Truly
M.A. Wardell with his contemporary gay fiction, Teacher of the Year and Mistletoe + Mishigas
Anita Kelly with their contemporary LGBT+ romances, Love + Other Disasters and Something Wild & Wonderful
Olivie Blake with their fantasy, The Atlas Six
C. S. Poe with their LGBT+ mystery series, Memento Mori (first book is Madison Square Murders)
I love Abby Jimenez.
I discovered Abby Jimenez with Part of Your World as well. I loved that book. I need to read Yours Truly soon.
Travis Baldtree has been a popular pick this week!
I also read Travis Baldree for the first time in 2023! Abby Jimenez is an author I’m hoping to try in 2024 🙂
The only one I’ve heard of and read is Travis Baldree.
Travis Baldree is on my list this week too. I hope you continue to enjoy these authors in 2024.

Sarah Gailey I’ve enjoyed. I need to try Baldree.
Yay for Jimenez!
Travis Baldree is on a lot of lists this week. I have a book by Jimenez but haven’t got a chance to read it yet.
Baldree is a popular pick this week! I read LEGENDS & LATTES last year and enjoyed it. I’ll definitely read the sequel at some point. Glad you found so many new authors to love in 2023.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I need to read Legends and Lattes! Abby Jimenez was a new author for me this past year too. Glad you found some good ones!
I think 90% of my reading last year were new authors. Out of you list above, I’ve only read Jimenez before.
I still need to try The Sunbearer Trials! The Atlas Six sounds good too. It’s always fun discovering new authors you like.
