  1. I love Taken by Storm by Angela Morrison. It's really nice 🙂

And my favorite reading spot is on some bench at the park. The sunshine and the trees make me feel good.

  2. Oh, this one's easy for me:

Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev. It is due to release July 7th and it's full of fun!

  3. I loved Breathing by Cheryl Renee Herbsman. It was my first debut author book of the year and I just fell in love with all the characters.

Also, my favorite reading spot would be in bed under my blanket with a pile of pillows behind me. Over the summer it is out on the porch, trying unsuccessfully to get tan.

  4. Wings, by Aprilynne Pike, was amazing! The writing is excelent. It's different from a lot of books that I have read recently. It's about faeries but in a way that I hadn't read before. You should really check it out this summer, plus it's in a series so you can look forward for another book to add to a to be read pile.

My favorite place to read in the summer is on my trampoline. I'll bring a book, my ipod, and my phone outside and just lay out on my trampoline for hours trying to get a tan but normally just getting sunburnt.

  5. I can only pick one book!? Hmm ok then I choose.. The Forest of Hands and Teeth, by Carrie Ryan. I'm actually currently reading it, so I don't have a full review for it yet. But so far, I'm really enjoying it and the zombies 😀

I have many favorite reading spots but one of my favorites is out on my screened-in porch during summer. I get to read outside, while staying away from the icky bugs, and I can sprawl out on our swinging chair with the fan above me. It's my favorite place to read, and soo relaxing.

  6. You Are So Undead to Me by Stacey Jay. Its a great fun summer read. And once you finish it you want to start counting the days till the sequel is released.

My favorite reading spot is laying outside in the sun.

  7. One of my favorite debut authors is Vivian Marie Aubin du Paris. Her book is The Quest Of Dai: The Eroe. It was awesome. Her style of writing is a great mix of humor and seriousness at the same time. And it was a little like the Mortal Instruments series which I LOVE.

  8. Okay, I'm going to do two (this is because I'm pretty sure the first one won't work…).

    1. Bran Hambric: The Farfield Curse by Kaleb Nation. It isn't out until September, but the first four chapters are online and it is amazing! I recomend looking it up.

    2. Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey. I loved reading it (mostly because I am a huge vampire fan – no matter what) and would love to read more books by Beth. This should also be looked up and read!

My favoite reading spot during the summer is in the basement of my grandparent's house. They don't have air conditioning and the basement is the coolest spot. Usually I am left alone and they sometimes don't even find me. 🙂

  9. + 2: I really loved Willow by Julia Hoban. The subject of cutting was very interesting to me and I really loved Hoban's writing style – it's a must read 🙂

+ 1: My favorite summer reading spot is under the umbrella on my patio with a glass of iced tea. The reason I like it so much is because I laid the brick for that darn patio three times and it was exhausting – so I figure I better get outside and enjoy it, which I do even three years later 🙂

  10. I really enjoyed The Season by Sarah Maclean! =) It was sooo good. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to understand it but no! I understood the story and loved it. It's a fantastic debut.

My fave summer reading spot is at any coffee spots. Starbucks, Coffee Bean etc. Even though I read everywhere, sitting on a comfy chair with a yummy coffee ice blended is the best!

  11. I would also have to say that my favorite debut this year has been Wings by Aprilynne Pike (though there's still half a year left, so we'll see come December). Though it seemed like it was geared to younger teens, I still loved the word Aprilynne Pike dreamed up. It reminded me a lot of something by Holly Black and/or Melissa Marr, which is certainly a good thing.

My favorite reading spot is this oversized comfy chair in our living room. Depsite being called the living room, my family rarely uses the room, so it's like having my own space. Plus, the chair is so huge that I can lay down sideways with my head on one arm of the chair and my legs dangling of the other. The nearby window doesn't hurt either.

  12. My favorite debut so far is The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan. It is so amazing! I can't wait for the sequel, which I just found out about today; along with the fact that the film rights have been bought for it! YaY!
And @May-Bedell Gurl I too am excited for Bran Hambric! I preordered as soon as I could!

My favorite place to read would be outside on a warm day, while laying on a blanket, under a nice shady tree. I love reading outside!

  13. My favorite debut so far is Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey.

I love just curling up on my bed or sitting outside in the sun when I read.

  14. A great debut novel this year is The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan! It's a Zombie book, and the perfect way to spend a rainy day/or night reading with a flashlight. It's also really thought-provoking, and that's really what makes a good book.

My favorite reading spot in the summer depends on the weather. When it's sunny I love to read outside laying on the grass. I live in the country, so it's fairly quiet outside. On rainy days, however, I tend to curl up in bed.

  15. A great debut author is Julie Kramer author of Stalking Susan. This author writes in the style of Mary Higgins Clark who I have always enjoyed. Stalking Susan is about a television reporter who discovers that a serial killer is killing a woman named Susan on the same day each year. This is a book worth reading.

  16. Alright, this may be a teeny bit of a stretch – Wondrous Strange came out in December of 2008 (close to 2009!) by Lesley Livingston and I definitely suggest it to any one who loves to read about fairies.

If that doesn't quite count.. I also read and loved The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan. Both great reads.

Let's see – I love reading on my couch and when it's nice out I go over to my parent's house and read on their porch or in the hammock.

  17. One of my favorite debut novels was Breathing by Cheryl Renee Herbsman. I love Savannah's character!! It was great.

My favorite reading spot would be in cafés or anywhere with air conditioned. 😀

  18. I just read Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey and I loved it! It is very well written, and is something original in the huge amount of vampire romances being published now.

My favorite place to read in the summer is on my bed with the curtains open.

  19. Anonymous

I haven't been able to get my hands on any books by 2009 debut authors yet! But my favorite summer reading spot is in one the reclining chairs in the backyard, at night, with a book light. It's nice and cool and quiet.
