It’s time for the August Currently with Anne from In Residence. Feel free to answer any of these in the comments, or let me know if you have your own Currently post for the month. I’d love to check it out!
It's August and Here is What I'm Currently Doing...#currently #ontheblog Click To TweetFollowing: I’m following the Twitter hashtag #bookishwish where you can share the books you’re hoping to add to your collection (review copy, finished copy, special edition, etc.) and if people have a copy of the book – or are just so inclined – they can tweet you back and offer it. I shared that I really wanted the ARC for Escaping From Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco because I have the first two as ARCs AND finished copies and someone offered to send it to me. How generous, right? If you have a #bookishwish or want to fulfill one, check it out. And follow me on Twitter!
Ordering: My sister recently got Amazon Prime, so on Prime Day, I got the Harry Potter 8-movie pack on Blu-ray for a little less than $30! This normally goes for about $100, so it was an amazing deal. Plus, I now own all the HP movies on Blu-ray.
Pinning: Not a whole lot at the moment, but I am always looking for more things to save to my Blogging/Social Media board. Follow me?
Watching: I don’t watch a lot of TV during the summer, but I’m always happy to see a new Dateline on TV and I’ve been enjoying America’s Got Talent! As for the movies, I saw Mama Mia: Here We Go Again! and I thought it was really fun. I’m excited for two movies coming out this Friday: Christopher Robin and The Spy Who Dumped Me. *Fingers crossed* I can see those soon.
Counting: The number of years I’ve been blogging. Yes, it’s finally the month of August and that means it’s been 11 years since I first started blogging. It’s crazy to think, but I’ve loved this blogging journey and I hope many more years are ahead of me. I will have a giveaway (or two) and some other fun blogoversary themed posts, so stick around!
Ooh! I hadn’t seen #bookwish! I just made a post 🙂 WAHOO! Happy anniversary!!
I’ve never heard of the #bookishwish hashtag! What an awesome idea! I love to hear stories about generous strangers.
I haven’t heard about #bookishwish. I will check that out.
11 years!! WOW!!!!!
I started blogging this year so I think you can feel my wow (I mean excitement).
I haven’t been watching all that much either – summer is better for reading, I say! But I am excited for the Crazy Rich Asians movie. Even better since it’s book-related 🙂 And this hashtag is so fun to know about – I’m going to check it out now!
I can’t wait to see Christopher Robin. Every time I watch the preview I get pretty emotional though so I think I’m going to need to bring Kleenex!! I’ve seen a little bit of America’s Got Talent this summer too. It’s always fun to watch!
Yes, that Prime Deal for Potter was amazing, but we all own it. I did get the KU for 3 months for 99 cents so I am happy. I just finished the final book in the Sentinels of New Orleans, one of my favorite series. No review on blog though, since I now work for the author..but I was a fan first.
I’m having a hard time getting into anything this summer. I’m basically a slug lol
I’m still kicking myself for not picking up that book for you at ALA. I kept looking at it and thinking I knew someone who wanted it but couldn’t remember lol

I saw Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again this week too and while I enjoyed it, I wasn’t expecting it to be so emotional! It punched me right in the feels more than once, lol.
Oh the #bookwish hashtag sounds awesome!! And wow, 11 years, that is awesome!!
Great deal on the HP movie set! I haven’t seen Mama Mia! yet. As much as I loved the first one, I find that I’m just not that excited about this one. I *AM* excited about Christopher Robin, though. I adore Pooh Bear! 🙂 Me, my husband, my mom, my sister, and my niece are all going to see it together on Sunday. Can’t wait!
That sounds like a fun hashtag! I want to see Christopher Robin too. I got the Harry Potter box set back in December, it was a great deal when I got it too!
This #bookishwish is such a great initiative, I love following it around and seeing people’s wishes coming true, it warms my heart 🙂
I can’t believe you’ve been blogging for so long this month, it is incredible! <3 I hope you'll have a fantastic August! <3
Oh my goodness….11 years!! That is incredible.
What a deal on the HP!!! That is awesome! I didn’t grab anything on Prime Day. The one thing I had in my cart I forgot to checkout on and missed it. The bookishwish sounds fun! I will have to check it out.
Ommmg. 11 years is a lot ;0 Congratulations on that. 🙂
I’m planning on seeing Mama Mia next week… can’t wait!
Need to follow that hashtag for book ideas!!
I’m totally going to follow #bookishwish because that sounds awesome!!
I was going to say I will have to look that hashtag up but I don’t have Twitter… maybe on IG though? Wow! 11 years of blogging?! That’s awesome!!!
:O!! What what–I’m definitely gonna have to check out that #bookishwish hashtag! I have some books I’ve been wanting to read (and a few I’ve been meaning to gift somewhere).
Yay for Amazon Prime! I’m glad you found such an awesome deal!
I don’t watch much TV at all, but summer means So You Think You Can Dance, which is one of my favorite shows.
I can’t believe you’ve been blogging for 11 years! Thats awesome. I’m only a few months in and am still trying to figure out how everything works and a good consistent schedule for myself. Also, great job on the HP books. I just read all of those last winter and now I can’t stand the movies!
Congrats on scoring such a great deal on those Harry Potter blu rays! I didn’t buy much on Prime Day but I did get a new Kindle Paperwhite since they had those on sale for $79 that day.
11 years of blogging! That is amazing, Lauren 🙂 I bought a couple of things on Prime Day. I was able to get all 7 seasons of Game of Thrones for $75 but I am still waiting for it to arrive.
Congrats on 11 years blogging! That’s awesome! And what a deal on Prime Day…nice job. I can’t wait to see the Christopher Robin movie too.
Ahhhhh HP for less than 30 bucks AND it’s all 8 of the movies? That is one heck of a good deal.
I saw #bookishwish floating around, but chose not to participate due to financial concerns. I’m sure I have books people would love to have but at the same time I don’t think I can afford shipping either. Hopefully it’ll still be around when I move to another place so I CAN give the books I don’t want a good home!
Wow, congrats on 11 years! I am also super excited to see Christopher Robin. I just love Ewan McGregor!
I’ve been looking at that #bookishwish hashtag on Twitter. I have a couple of ARCs I’m thinking of offering up. I wish international shipping wasn’t so costly though.
Wow #bookwish is pretty cool! That HP deal was amazing. Yay for Prime Day! Congrats on 11 years blogging. That is amazing!
Amazon Prime is fantastic. That’s a great deal on the HP movies! Congrats on 11 years blogging 🙂
11 years- congrats! That’s awesome! And what a great deal on the HP movies!!
Congrats on 11 years of blogging! I enjoy reading your blog. That’s a good price paid on Amazon Prime day. I didn’t order anything.
Amazon Prime is the best! It always gets me in trouble haha.
Oh that’s a neat hashtag! How fun someone had what you were wishing for 🙂
I just started using pinterest again. Trying to for the blog a bit. I followed you. 🙂
I followed you on Pinterest. I just got an account about a week ago. I’m having lots of fun with it. I hope you’re having a good August!
I am dying to see the movie, Mamma Mia!
Oh wow! Well done on getting your wished for ARC! That’s awesome.
ELEVEN YEARS of blogging? That’s crazy! Wow! Congratulations! What an achievement!
Happy August and I hope this month is a fabulous one for you!
That’s awesome and congrats on 11 years of blogging, Lauren! I was just thinking today about all that has changed since we’ve started—crazy to think we were there before blogging was really a thing!
Also I love that hashtag and that there are generous people on twitter willing to send copies of reading materials! Thanks for sharing 🙂 also great score on the Harry Potter set for $30!
Yay for your sister getting Amazon Prime, I’m SO addicted to it lol, and for you scoring such an amazing deal on Prime Day! YAY you!! I got the boys Britax Car-seats half off, so I was a pretty happy camper on Prime Day too. 🙂 And congratulations on 11 years of blogging, that’s huge!!
