It’s time for another Currently with Anne at In Residence!

I hope everyone is having a great August! In case you haven’t seen, I’m celebrating my Blogoversary (12 years!!) with some awesome giveaways. You can find the latest giveaways here. Thanks to all the bloggers celebrating with me and to YOU for reading my blog!

August 2019 #Currently: Dead to Me, Ed Sheeran, Food Subscription Boxes, and more #ontheblog Click To Tweet

Ordering: Funko Pops from Zulily. I collect Funkos and Zulily randomly has some good deals on them. I’m still waiting for my last order, but one of the Funkos I ordered is Ed Sheeran! I’m pretty excited.

Watching: I started watching the show Dead to Me on Netflix and I’m really loving it. The first episode ended with a twist that I did not see coming – but even if you do, it’s still enough to make you curious for more. I have about three episodes left that I can hopefully watch soon!

Cooking: I actually started buying meals from Freshly. These meals are Gluten-Free (which I need) and prepared by chefs so you get them in the mail, store them in the refrigerator, and then when you want to eat them, you stick them in the microwave (the times are usually between 2 and 3 minutes). Voila, you have a meal! There are a variety of meals you can choose from and the price changes depending on how many you get. Right now I’ve been doing 4 meals a week so I can have dinners for most nights. Would you like to see a review on Freshly? If you’re interested in trying out Freshly, feel free to use my affiliate link and get $40 off your first order – and I’ll get $40 too!!

Wondering: If I can cross more items off my Summer Bucket List. I have 12 items on my list and I can really only cross off a few, which is a bummer. I don’t care if I miss some at the end of Summer, but there are three or four more I’d really like to get done, so we’ll see! *fingers crossed* How are you doing on your Summer bucket list?

Savoring: This last month of Summer. I’m not the biggest fan of Summer, because I get hot so easy, but it’s been a really weird Summer around here, so I want to try and enjoy the rest of it while I can. I love the Fall, and once September hits, I’ll be really busy, so hopefully August will be a mix of rest/relaxation and fun outings!

Feel free to answer any of these prompts in the comments! If you did your own Currently post, let me know and I’ll come visit!

Even though I was born in August, it’s too dang hot(lol), and I’m looking forward to the cooler months. Very cool about the Funko Ed Sheeran who recently won a record for most concerts. I watch way too much on Netflix(lol), and I got hooked on Dead to Me too. Happy Wednesday! RO

  2. I’ve heard Dead to Me is pretty good. My partner’s dad was really talking it up and he never really gets into shows at all, but we haven’t started it yet.

  3. Ooh yes I loved Dead to Me so much – so many fun twists. I love TV shows that feel like books in that way to me. (Another one that is admittedly an entirely different genre but I loved because of the book-like feels all the same, was Broadchurch.) I realized I have a couple of items left on my summer bucket list too – like you, I’m aiming to get to a couple of the major ones, but otherwise I’m just trying to feel satisfied that I was intentional about doing some fun stuff this summer ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. We are at about the same spot in Dead To Me, I think. I must have read a spoiler about the first twist at the end of episode 1 because I knew about it from the start!

  5. I absolutely second what you said about summer! The older I grow, the harder it becomes for me to endure it. We’ve had a huge heatwave between June and July (almost three weeks long), another (much shorter) one at the end of the month, and now we’re at it again. I hole up at home and blog…which is what I always do anyway, since my life is…complicated. Also, without air conditioning, I can only rely on a small army of fans. I mean…the ones with the blades LOL. Well, at least there’s air conditioning at work, which is pretty much the only reason why I find it bearable these days…

I just want to say HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY (you’ve been around almost twice the time that I have! My blog is turning 7 in October…) and thank you for all the goodies!

  6. Your bucket lists are one of my fav posts of yours! I always get great ideas for my own bucket lists! Like… watching Dead to Me! I also want to give Freshly a try one day or something similar in my area because I also try to eat GF

  7. My mom collects Funko Pops too. I try to look for her, but I never remember which ones she has. I’m going to have to check out that meal service. I’ve been slacking in meal prep, and I’m so sick of everything. I’m excited for Fall and the end of the hot/humid weather.

  8. This is the first time in decades that I’ve loved summer. It’s absolutely beautiful in PNW this time of year. It’s dry, never too hot and we always have a nice breeze where I live.

This will also be the first real fall I’ve had in just as long. I’m excited for sweaters lol

  9. I started Dead To Me but then didn’t finish it. I did enjoy the few episodes I watched though! We got hooked on Good Girls and started watching more of that I guess. I am savoring the last month of summer too and really want time to slow down a bit!

  10. I had a reality check this morning when I looked at the calendar and realized we only have three and a half more weeks of summer. It feels like it just got started. I love summer. We have had a rather mild one here in the Pacific NW, not too hot! I am trying to get some organization done and clean up projects completed. We are getting closer each day.

  11. Never watched Dead to Me, but I’m curious now. I have been tempted to try a cooking food delivery, like Blue Ribbon, where they deliver all the ingredients portioned out and you just cook it up. Not sure if it’s cost effective for us, though. Hope you get to cross off some things from your Summer bucket list. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. I guess I’m getting old because I had no idea what a funko pop was – had to look it up! At least I know who Ed Sheeran is (but honestly only because my son danced to his song at his wedding!) Good luck with the rest of your bucket list!

  13. You know I love me some Funko Pops, and I had no idea Zulily had them- I’ll have to check it out! I have that Ed Sheeran one though- Blue got me that one for Christmas ๐Ÿ™‚ What other ones did you get? I also really liked Dead To Me, and I think there’s going to be a season 2. I’m trying to savor the rest of summer too, as it’s my favorite season (I hate being cold!) and cross some more things off my summer bucket list. Hope you have a relaxing August!

  14. My daughter is on a strict gluten free/dairy free diet and Sprouts has some awesome food items from there. I can’t believe summer is almost over. While I don’t like the heat, I feel like we’ve had more cold and rain than heat. Good Luck on your Summer Bucket list Lauren!

  15. I’m a big fan of Fall too but I’ve enjoyed this summer more than others. I collect Funko Pops too. I have about 40 of them. I didn’t know Zulily sells them. Will have to check it out!

  16. I have the same mixed feelings about summer, this one in particular, maybe because it’s just been so gosh darn hot every day. But it’s such a fleeting season and crazy to think long sleeves and PSLs are in the forecast!

Also. HOW GOOD IS DEAD TO ME!?!?!? I friggin love that show and the characters so much. I related to the two main characters also in a weird way and I love their bizarre friendship. Gah! SO GOOD!!

And that food delivery service sounds amazing1

  17. I have tried to curb my Funko collecting as I just do not have the space for them! I did a mini collecting spree of QPosket Winter minis, which were Snow White, belle, and Jasmine in winter clothes and omg they were just too cute so I got them all, haha. But I need to stop collecting things, as fun as it is, because I am running out of room everywhere!

I am currently watching Siren, which is a show about mermaids/sirens (they mix the two, which is lightly annoying) and it is super queer! The main couple is a three person polyamorous relationship, and two of the people in the relationship are bi! I see no one talking about this show and it upsets me as I don’t want it to be cancelled.

I recently discovered a vegan meal service called Herbidoor and I order a few meals from them each week so I don’t have to cook on work days. I love it!

  18. I’ll need to check out Dead To Me, it sounds fun!
I also should write lists of things I want to do in each season… Last year, I had clear goals to work towards (buying then moving house, getting married etc) and this year I’ve felt rudderless. A ‘bucket list’ might be helpful!
And I’m with you, I love autumn more than the other seasons.

I have been lingering on Dead to Me, almost pressing play until a kid comes in, but I think I am going to finally start tonight!

  20. Might take you up on trying Freshly. We are going out of town – heading your way again – but maybe when we get back. Thanks!

I am behind on my bucket list, too. Need to print it or commit it to memory! This trip is going to throw a monkey wrench in the works, too. But we still have about 5 weeks so fingers crossed.

I have no idea what a Funko Pop is so off to figure that out. Yay on getting some??!!

  21. Hi Lauren, so nice to catch up with ya, and hear how your summer is going and what you’ve been up to. I can’t believe we’re in the last few weeks of official summer (where the heck did it go?). I really enjoyed “Dead to Me”. Good show! I’m beginning Season 2 of The Crown and really getting hooked.
