Summary:
AJ Ashe isn’t your typical seventeen-year-old vampire—as if there is such a thing!
She’s stuck in the middle of a huge fight between her two BFFs. Her ex-boyfriend—whom she’s still totally in love with, by the way—is now her stepbrother. A former classmate—who, um, she may or may not have turned into a vampire—is stalking her. And now, apparently, the fate of humankind lies in her little undead hands. What ever happened to the good old days, when all a vampire girl had to worry about was the occasional zit and hiding her taste for blood?
Review:
Poor AJ is having a rough time. She’s a vampire, she had to break up with her boyfriend (they still love each other) and her mom is getting married to her ex-boyfriend’s dad—and those are just the beginning of her problems! Like I said, poor AJ.
AJ is a main character you will root for. You will feel her pain and want her to be happy. Ryan, her ex-boyfriend, was an enjoyable character. I was rooting for him and AJ to get together, even though they were stepsiblings. There were times when he annoyed me (and AJ), but that was only when he brought Lindsey (AJ hates her) into the picture. I didn’t trust Malia, AJ’s other best friend who moved back, at all—she seemed very suspicious to me.
The whole vampire plot was extremely fascinating and different, something that I absolutely loved. There was also something shocking about Ryan’s family that fit in well with the story.
Bite Me is cute and fun with a huge side of angst. It will keep you guessing and entertained.
The sequel, Love Sucks, is out now.
Cover comments: plain, but it fits.
Overall: 4/5
I'm not sure this is for me, but I'm sure this book will be popular with its target audience.
I'm over-dosed on vampires at the moment, but this book sounds like it might offer up something different.
It is a wonderful book. I read it and it is great.
