I’m linking up with Anne at In Residence today for the July 2017 Currently Link Up! Share what you’re currently doing in the comments.
Documenting: Hopefully I will be documenting my trip to Chicago/ALA soon. I’ve been reading some other recaps and I love them, so if you went and wrote about it but did not receive a comment from me, please leave a link. I’d love to check out your experience. At any rate, I should have mine up in the next week or so. Yes, I’m a bit of a slacker but I’ve had so many book reviews to post lately! Once that recap is up, I’ll FINALLY be documenting my trip to London last fall.
Accomplishing: I’ve almost accomplished two online classes. The final has to be done for both by this Friday. These classes are all free, online classes made available by my local library. I’ll be sharing posts about these soon so be on the lookout for my experience taking these classes for the first time!
July 2017: What are you enjoying, reading, spending? #ontheblog Click To TweetEnjoying: My pool! It’s been open since the beginning of June and I’ve loved finding time to just relax and refresh. Being in the pool is my favorite part of the summer since I get hot so quick!
Reading: All the books. Seriously, I’ve been doing really well with getting caught up on books sent for review, so I’m excited about that. I’ve already read two books I got at ALA too – Little Monsters by Kara Thomas and Refugee by Alan Gratz. They are both amazing, but Refugee is particularly poignant. Reviews to come later this month!
Spending: Besides time in the pool? I suppose I should say I’ve been spending money too but I’m trying to save as much as I can. I spent money most recently (besides a movie with a friend yesterday) on my sister’s birthday gifts though. Yes, she’s getting them late, but I think she’ll like it all. I don’t want to say anything else though because she reads my blog! Hi, Kari!
Ooh the pool sounds nice! I need a pool lol. And looking forward to your ALA recap!
I’m looking forward to the review of Little Monsters by Kara Thomas, it’s been on my list.. Sitting there… didn’t get to it yet 🙂
I need a pool in my life. I wish we had one in our specific neighborhood. I didn’t think much of it when I bought my home years ago because the boys could go with their friends to their pools and I would just tag along with the parents. Well, fast forward 8 years and with people moving and friendships shifting…no pool time for me. Bummer
I love that there are so many free options to learn through Coursera or local libraries. It makes the teacher in me a happy human 🙂
I wish I had a pool! I’d spend every single summer day either in it or sitting next to it with a book! Way to go on finishing two online courses as well, that is is awesome!
Amen to summer pool time! Can’t wait to see you share about your trip 🙂
Congrats on almost finishing your online classes and good luck on your finals!! I’m excited to hear about them. I’m also so glad to hear that you enjoyed Little Monsters. It’s been on my wish list ever since it was on a if you like Pretty Little Liar list. Can’t wait to see your review for it! 🙂
I can’t wait to read your post about the online classes. I wonder if that’s also something my library does.
I need a pool in my life! It has been so muggy lately that a pool would be super fantastic! I also need to get myself reading this month. So many books on my TBR list!
Looking forward to reading your progress with the online courses. Oh the pool!!! I’m missing the pool. Reading in the pool is my favorite too. I rarely do it now though, which is so sad.
Anyway, enjoy your books. Happy reading. 🙂
I’m looking forward to reading more about the online classes – they sound like a great resource!
I’m looking forward to your post about the classes Lauren. I’ve been wanting to try something like that.

Ahhh the pool is my favourite place to chill out in Summer too! I have this big white floating lounge (it looks kind of like “big hero”) and I love floating around on the pool reading a good book 🙂
I might FINALLY have some time in the pool on Saturday–I can’t wait!
I can’t wait to see your ALA recap! And, I’m interested in reading about your online classes. I’m such a junkie for taking classes!

Still important to treat yourself while you’re saving though Lauren. You work hard for your money, enjoy it sweetheart. We’re well into winter here currently and it’s brrrrr cold. Hope you’re enjoying your time by the pool Lauren and looking forward to your book convention recaps <3
Sounds like such a great month between ALA, pool time, and lots of reading! I didn’t read a ton in June, so I hope that my July includes quite a bit! 🙂 XO – Alexandra
