It’s time for another Currently with Anne at In Residence
Finishing: Some really great books lately. I read 14 books in all of January, and by the time you read this, it will probably be an overall total of 16.
Subscribing: to the idea that having things to look forward to is one of the best ways to get through the bad and/or dull days. I love looking at my planner and seeing what fun things I have coming up!
Time for my Feburary 2018 Currently: What are you watching, hearting, etc? #ontheblog #currently Click To TweetWishlisting: So many books – either on Goodreads (add me!) or on Amazon. I’m going to be sharing a lot of these books on the blog soon – broken down by genres. What books are on your wish list? I might find some new ones to add!
Watching: I’m about to be watching the Winter Olympics. I don’t pay attention to all of it, but I do really like the ice skating! I wish I was that talented. I could never even skate well on the ground, let alone try and get on ice.
Hearting: All the fun Valentine’s Day themed things I have coming up. Tomorrow I’m going to The Melting Pot, which is a fondue restaurant if you weren’t aware. This Saturday, I’m going to brunch with friends, and then next Wednesday (actual Valentine’s Day), I’m seeing a play at my undergraduate college. I’m single, but I can still enjoy my Galentines!

I also wanted to let you know that I created a Book Blog Group; if you ever review books on your blog, you’re welcome to enter! You can share non-book related posts so it’s all good. It’s just a great way to find new blogs, get some comments, and hopefully get more clicks/views than anything! Check it out here.
Great idea about the book blog group. I’m going to join! You read way more than I do, lol!
Why was I not following you on Goodreads??? Just changed that! You have a lot of books read for the year already! I will have to join the book group.
You are so right that having something (even something small!) to look forward to really does help get through the blah winter days. And I totally forgot about the Olympics when I was creating my Currently post! I’m excited for ice skating too!
I was just thinking the other day that having something to look forward to can really brighten the dreary days/weeks! And I love that you still celebrate Valentine-s Day with your girls. It’s a day about love in general, not just romantic ones! Can’t believe we weren’t connected on Goodreads already- just added you!
I’m so excited for the Winter Olympics to start!
I love the Melting Pot!! I haven’t been there in ages! It is such a yummy place to go. I am looking forward to the Olympics too, I love the skating. And yes, having things to look forward too really do make these long winter days go faster!
14 books in January! Thats impressive!
14 boos in January. Wow, that’s impressive. My highest count in a month so far has been nine. Can I take off a whole month and just read?? 😛
I always focus on things I look forward to… it’s such a good motivation!
SO excited for the Olympics to start! 😀
Green Fashionista
That’s so many books!! I only read 1 in January! Haha
Going to investigate your book group. Have a recent review to share.
Yay for fondue. As a little girl, my parents would fix it at home for us. Delicious. Enjoy every morsel.
Happy Galentines. I love that.
FOURTEEN books in January?! Good gracious that is impressive!
I am SO impressed that you read 14 books! I was pleased with my 3, and that’s just pathetic…haha!
I am excited about watching the Olympics as well…& for the skating, that’s my favorite as well – figure & speed. 🙂
Yes, I love a good reading month! I’ve been wishlisting plenty of books myself – top one right now is Force of Nature, follow up to The Dry by Jane Harper. It was one of my favorite books last year, so I’m excited for another!
The Melting Pot sounds sooo good!! Thanks for linking up and have fun reading! #BloggersBests
14 BOOKS??! Wow!! That’s awesome! Happy Valentines Day!!
Ooh, I’m definitely going to join that Book Blogger Group! I have SO many books on my “to-read” list. I don’t know how I’m going to get through them all, haha! 🙂
I didn’t realize I wasn’t following you on Goodreads previously but I just sent you a request 🙂 I’m so impressed by the # of books you’ve read so far! That is seriously amazing! And I love the Melting Pot! Haven’t been to one in ages but it’s perfect for this time of year. Galentine’s Day is the best way to celebrate (imo); less expectation 🙂 XOXO
It’s fun to peek into your world.. pretty sure you are far more interesting than me, lol! – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
Have fun at the melting pot, I love that place!
I don’t think I’ve ever watched the Olympics. I’ve seen bits and pieces, sure, because how can you not? I know my husband enjoys some of the events, so maybe I’ll finally sit down and watch a few things this year.
I’ve just started Wishlisting myself!
Do You Dog-ear?
How do you have time for so many books? I’m very jealous!
And I will be with you in watching the Olympics! There are certain sports I love to watch, and I’m sure my oldest girl will love the figure skating. Thankfully, I don’t mind it either!
I’m right there with you Lauren and plan to catch the Olympics. Love to see all that talent, and yes, I’ve been to the Melting Pot once and ate way too much!(lol) Great idea about the new group to meet other bloggers! Hugs…RO
Oh wow! 16 books in January? That’s awesome! I am super stoked about the winter Olympics! I just tried curling for the first time with some friends. I definitely was surprised there was a curling center near us, but it was so much fun trying it out! Although what I’d really really love to try one day is luge or skeleton – though I have no idea how you try those sports without guaranteed wrecking or where you would even do that!
I love your “subscribing” item. So true! I’m the same way. Also – I’m with you on the Olympics. Ice skating is pretty much the only one I’ll watch seriously.
Mmmm, I haven’t been in years but I love The Melting Pot. Hope you enjoy it!
I am soooo excited for Friday night! Bring on the Olympics 🙂
Your thoughts on subscribing are spot on friend!
We’re celebrating Galentines Day this weekend too! I’m PUMPED! Do you have any fun ideas for crafts or activities?
Ooh yay! I hope you have a blast. I have a whole board for Valentine’s Day on Pinterest – https://www.pinterest.com/shootingstarmag/valentines-day/
Thank you!! I’m excited to do some of these ideas!
I love this idea of a monthly update. And 16 is a great amount of books for a month!
I just followed you on GoodReads. Somehow we weren’t connected yet!
Fourteen books in a month is so awesome! Go you!
I love having something to look forward to. Whether it’s something big like a vacation or something small like the weekend or a new book. Anticipation makes me happy. 🙂
I haven’t been to a Melting Pot in sooo many years. I have good memories though because it was my 2nd or 3rd date with my husband many years ago. ?
Way TO GO! I definitely need to up my reading game!
I forgot that the Olympics were starting!
Congrats on getting through so many books too!
16 books is awesome. I am wanting to watch the Olympics, but hubby is hogging tv with replys of Superbowl and talks of game..lol
I am looking forward to the Olympics. And 16 books in 1 month! I am so jealous. I wish I had the patience to read more. I am such a slow reader though.
I love The Melting Pot. Give me all the cheese and chocolate fondue please. 🙂
I pretty much only wishlist things these days. I don’t buy unless I’m gonna read it right that second. Otherwise it just gets lost in the piles. lol
14 books in January??!! That’s amazing! I am just trying to finish my first one! Are you reading them all or do you do any audio books? I was thinking about getting into the audio books in the car!
I read them all. I need to try audios again; see if I can focus enough to listen!
oh too bad I don’t have fb!!! Thet book blog group sounds fantastic! Let me know if you ever open it in GR too.
14 books in all of January WTG!!! I can’t believe we were not GF friends already! I just added you and followed you on IG, Pinterest and Bloglovin’ 🙂
I didn’t do quite as well with my reading this past month. Oh well, January is always crazy busy for me. Yum, The Melting Pot! Haven’t been there in forever. I don’t even know if we still have one in my town. Now I think I have to go see.
ooh hope you had fun at the Melting Pot. We have one nearby but I’ve never been! One of these days… 😛 I did pretty well with reading last month, I hope to keep doing better now that I have more energy again! 🙂 I agree with you on what you are subscribing to. It really does help to have things to look forward to! 🙂 XO – Alexandra
