Happy November 1st! I’m a bit sad that October is over – it’s my favorite month, after all – but I’m determined to have as much fun in November as I did last month. Who is with me? Welcome to my Currently post – I’m linking up with In Residence for Currently and See You in a Porridge for What’s New With You?
New #Currently post on the blog - what November movies are you looking forward to? Click To Tweetrealizing: that my brother and his family will be moving back to the area end of December/beginning of January and I absolutely cannot wait. It will be wonderful to see my nieces and nephew a lot more – I haven’t seen them in person since this past Christmas, and the youngest turned one over the summer so she’s growing up so quick!
stirring: I’m stirring up blog ideas lately! If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been trying to mix up what I post so it’s not all one thing or the other. I like to have a few different types of posts in a week to keep things interesting for everyone reading. What do you think? What are your favorite posts of mine?
appreciating: the new library book club I joined. Last month was my first time attending but it was a lot of fun. It’s YA for Adults and October’s book was The Diviners, giving me a reason to FINALLY read that book. I highly recommend it! This month’s book is Croak by Gina Damico. I’ve heard great things about this one, and it’s another book I’d been meaning to read, so it works out well!Β
investigating: Possible holiday gifts for friends and family! I know there are some DIY things that I’d like to make – those would probably go to friends. However, I’m usually way more ahead on things when it comes to family in terms of ideas and actually having a stockpile. Unfortunately, I haven’t bought anything (as I write this at least) so I really need to get on that! If you missed my post on The Best Chocolates for the Holidays, check it out here – you might find some good ideas for friends, family, co-workers, hostesses, and more!
following: All the upcoming movies! There are so many that I want to see in the next couple months, but especially in November. I don’t know when I’ll have time to see them all but some I’d like to see this month include:
- Thor: Ragnarok
- Justice League
- Bad Moms Christmas
- My Friend Dahmer
- Call Me By Your Name
- Wonder
- Murder on the Orient Express
What about you? Any upcoming movies you hope to see in theaters? Tis the season!
I hope you manage to get to see your movies π I’ve seen Thor: Ragnarok (very good, do recommend) but for some reason keep forgetting Justice League even exists D: I want to see Call Me By Your Name and Murder on the Orient Express, but not sure if I’ll get to either of them.
Your library book club sounds like fun, I hope you enjoy Croak!
So great that your brother is moving to your area – I would be thrilled if mine did that! And I love the idea of the YA for adults book group. I’d definitely enjoy that!
I’m glad your brother is moving closer to you, that is awesome!! And many movies on your list are on mine too, especially Bad Moms Christmas and Wonder!
Kudos on your brother being much closer to you Lauren. It’s greay to have family near. I love all your posts, but I think for our own sanity it sure helps to mix things up a little when possible. You have a few movies down that I can’t wait to see either. Justice League, Thor, Bad Moms and Murder on the Orient Express. I just finished The Glass Castle which had me bring out the tissues. I never read the book, but the movie was excellent! Hugs.. and happy November!
I had planned to be ahead of the game this year for the holidays but I have barely started. There’s so many DIYs I want to do as gifts.
I am trying to finish up my holiday shopping. I am not good at DIY things but I love a good bargain so I have been hunting them down. I am seeing Bad Moms this weekend and am so excited!
I’d like to catch up with all the movies. We just saw IT last week and binged Stranger Things over the weekend.
For What It’s Worth
It’s awesome that you’ll get to see your nephews and nieces more. And your library club sounds great. I wish mine had a book club for adults that like YA too; it would be a nice way to meet more people with similar interests.
I wish I can be creative with my blog π i think it’s fun what you doing. Good luck with the gifts, I think handmade stuff can be so much fun to do. I am looking into the possibility of that this year as well.
On that not I am also looking forward to Bad Moms Christmas
I’m sad October is over already too, but am excited for all things Thanksgiving! I’ve started researching Christmas gifts too, and am hoping to be ahead of schedule this year with my shopping <3

How exciting that your brother and his family are moving near you!
How sweet! I hope you enjoy having more family around. That is a total blessing!
How exciting that your family will be nearby soon. That’s awesome. And I am so jealous that your library has a YA for adults reading group. I wish I had a group like that around here.
I really want to see Wonder because I adored the book, but I think I will wait until it comes out on DVD. βΊ
Yes! I just saw the preview for the Orient Express and it looks really good. So awesome that your family is moving closer. Hope you have a great November!a
I love your currently lists! I also love that you’re switching things up around here but also staying true to your roots. I always love to be here, regardless of what you post, but having insight into your life is (in my opinion) fun to learn about π
That’s so wonderful that your brother and his family are moving closer and that you’ll have more of a chance to see the little ones. My brother lives in FL now and I miss him dearly. Time to plan a trip me thinks π Hope you are having a great week, my sweet!
You’ve reminded me that I haven’t seen a movie in months! I should get busy and do something to change that.
Happy November! That’s exciting that your brother is moving closer. It’s always nice to have family around. I am also so excited about the movies coming out. I have a list of ones I’d like to see. π
I’m bummed that October is over too. Seems like it just flew by this year. I am looking forward to the new films coming out this month, especially Thor: Ragnarok. Like you, I have no idea when I’ll fit them into my busy schedule, but hopefully I’ll find the time.
Ahhh I love YA lit!!! So I should check out the Diviners? That’s also wonderful that your brother and fam are moving closer to you. My brother is 14 years my junior so I’m like, “maybe one day he will grow up and be a cool brother” LOL! Loving the list of films you have there – Wonder has me excited as does Bad Moms 2! xo
Yes, definitely check out The Diviners. I just started the sequel, Lair of Dreams, yesterday and it’s already really good as well.

Library book clubs sound so fun, especially when the books aren’t enormous novels. I swear YA will always be my fave genre!
YES TO JUSTICE LEAGUE! i can’t wait for that to open.
Oh, a library book club sounds so fun! I need to look and see if my library has any book clubs–great idea! How nice that your family is moving closer to you. My nieces live about 3 hours or more away and I always wish I could see them more!
Aw, having family that you really have to travel to see can be tough! It’ll be nice to have mine closer for the long haul. You should definitely see if your library has a fun book club to join!
How great to have family moving closer! So cool that your library has a YA book club for adults. Iβd love to join something like that. I canβt remember the last time I saw a movie at the theater. Might not even have been this year. Ack! There just seems to be so few movies that Iβm truly interested in/excited about.
I am so excited about Thor! I cannot wait π Hoe exciting that your brother and his family i moving back to your area. I love having family around!
I cannot DIY myself out of a hole, so I’m all buying for holidays.
um, your library has a book club?! i am SO jealous. i wonder if mine does! i really really want to see Wonder. LOVED that book!
You should see if your library has one! The ones around me have quite a few different ones!
I love goal related posts, and currently type posts. I love reading recaps, but will confess that longer reviews I’m much more likely to read if I’ve: 1) read it already, 2) am looking at starting it, and read the longer review on goodreads. π That book club sounds GREAT! So glad that you are enjoying it! Glad that your brother is moving back, and I hear ya on the gifts! I am usually quite ahead… but not this year! haha I want to see Murder on the Orient Express and Coco! π π XO – Alexandra

Oh that makes me so happy that your brother is moving closer… I miss my family so much and would love to be closer to them.
It’s a good reminder to get working on the holiday list for family fand friends.I try to be organized and start early, so I need to get on that.
Oof I haven’t started thinking about Christmas either – but chocolates are always a good idea. And I wish my library had a book club like that!
I’m going to see Thor on Sunday, and I’m excited! I think there are a lot of good movies coming out this month!
Your library’s book club sounds fun! I need to see if mine has something similar.
I am glad your family will be so much closer to you soon! It’s just my husband, daughter and I in town–everyone else is hours of driving away. It makes things tough sometimes, but it is what it is. I am glad you are enjoying the book club! I have been considering joining one at the local indie bookstore. I wish you luck with your holiday gift ideas! I’ve been thinking a lot about that lately too. I hope you have a great November!
I’m sorry you aren’t close to family members! It can be tough sometimes. You should totally look into a book club! It’s a lot of fun.
So fun that your brother is moving close by! We have most of our siblings close by and we absolutely love it!
I’m very excited – he’s in the army and getting out, so that’s the reason why!
Hooray for your family moving close by! That’s awesome! :]
I like the mix of different types of blog posts that you’ve been doing! There are so many fall movies coming out–I need to go watch Thor! π
