magazine finds

I’m back with another month’s Glossies Made Me Do It, where myself, Erika from Cat Eyes & Skinny Jeans, and Ashley from Happy Pretty Sweet all showcase something we found in one of our magazines! If you’d like to take part, there is a link up at the bottom of the post. You have until June 23 to link up so please take part!

Today I’m featuring the June 2017 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine. The item that I decided to check out that was featured in this issue was the Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturizer SPF 15 for Sensitive Skin.

This moisturizer was actually featured on a couple advertisement pages in the middle of the magazine. It gives you some details about the product, including the fact that it’s good for people of different skin tones. There is actually an article in this issue all about different types of products with SPF and how it’s important for people of color to wear SPF too. While they have a lesser chance of getting sun burnt, they are still very much susceptible to skin cancer, so it’s an interesting article!

Personally, I’m really pale so I have to wear a lot of sun screen to make sure I don’t burn. I went to the water park this past Monday and while I kept putting on sun screen, I ended up getting burnt randomly on my legs and other places and man, that hurt! I need to do better. However, I used this moisturizer on my face and I didn’t burn at all there so that’s points in its favor!

You only need a tiny bit to cover your face – you’re supposed to re-apply every 2 hours. It’s light and doesn’t feel greasy at all. I put it on and then forgot it was there! You can put makeup on top of it, but I didn’t. I just use this and it worked well!

  1. Oh yes, I use sunscreen daily, at least in the warmer months. I can go without in when its cold. But…April through October I must have it on. I have been burnt in the past. I hate when I peel. I always get a shade or two darker during the summer. I notice it first on my arms since they are always exposed. Then my face once my makeup no longer matches. Lol…

  2. 1- Love that you call them glossies. That is so fun! 2- i haven’t read a magazine in a while, but I adore this segment on your blog. I am super pale too and have to wear a high spf for great coverage. I will check out the face sunscreen because I love that it’s nongreasy.

  3. I love this segment of your blog too–so much fun and I’d love to participate soon (haven’t read a mag in ages!!).

My friend was recently diagnosed with skin cancer and it was a reminder of how important it is to reapply frequently (something I don’t always do) and find a good sunscreen. Thanks so much for sharing–will look for this product next time I’m in the pharmacy.

    Xoxo

  4. The on thing I wish I could go back and tell younger me is to take better care of skin! I used to be one of those people who loved to get a dark tan, use oil instead of sunscreen and even tanning beds.

Now that I’m older all the age spots and discolorations are popping up.

I live in FL so it’s hard to avoid the sun but I wear sunscreen and never go lay out in it. I’m probably paler than most notherners lol

  5. That sounds really great. I hate when sunscreen is so sticky and heavy. My forehead got burnt over Memorial day, so I wish I would have had some of this on!

This is my favorite moisturizer! I have been using it for years. Now of course since I am older I add in a little more sunscreen, but this is still hands down my favorite!

  7. I love Olay products. I’ve used a few of them but don’t usually use their spf type stuff. Hubby is a red head so he wears more sunscreen that I do. #getsocial17

Dang, that sucks about getting burned, and hope you’re feeling a little better. Olay products are pretty amazing, aren’t they? I’m hearing more and more that we need to protect our skin, so I need to get more sunscreen , too. I went to a yard sale the other day, and found Cosmo mags from the 80’s. Can’t wait to check them out. Thanks for the tips! Hugs…

I have to stay on top of applying sunscreen too. I burn easy. That’s good that you found a product that works for you.
