TBB Asks: All Things Entertainment

Happy Monday! I’ve been suffering from crazy allergies all weekend, and I’m really hoping I’ve found the right medicine so I can start feeling better for the week. I never had allergy problems growing up, so this is fun. Anyway, I thought I’d take it a bit easy today and join in with The Blended Blog’s May Entertainment Questions!

It's an Entertainment Q&A for May: come share your answers #ontheblog Share on X

TBB Asks: May Entertainment Edition

1. Comedy or Drama? I like both, but I do really love to laugh, so I’m going with comedy.
2. Fiction or Non-Fiction? I read both, but I definitely read more fiction so we’ll go with that.
3. Movies in Theater or At Home? In the theater. It’s just a fun experience, seeing it with other people. Plus, I have a harder time focusing at home.
4. Musical or Play? I really love both, but I tend to go to musicals more!
5. Which Meal of the day is your favorite to eat out? Hmm…probably dinner. That’s usually when I go out.
6. Favorite Book ever read? Oh gosh, what book lover can answer this? Two top favorites: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
7. Game Night: Yes or No? No, I’m not a big board game person…and a lot of my friends are weirdly competitive so it’s not that fun.
8. Favorite Outside Game to play? I don’t really play any outside games; not since I was younger at least!
9. Favorite TV Series ever? Psych. I absolutely adore that show.
10. Sitcoms growing up or Sitcoms of today? I’d say both; they both have their good and bad.
11. Miniature Golf or Bowling? Bowling. I haven’t been in awhile, and I’m not that great, but it’s fun.
12. Favorite Movie Theater Candy? Buncha-Crunch
13. How do you like your popcorn? Pretty simple – butter and salt.
14. 3D movies with the glasses; Yes or No? Eh…not a huge fan. It’s weird because they go over my actual glasses, and I never really notice the 3D elements being all that great, so I’ll just save some money and go without.
15. Favorite Genre of Books to Read? I really like LGBT+, Contemporary, and Mystery/Thriller.

  1. love to learn more about you Lauren! I ADORED The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Harry Potter too! Other answers in common: Bowling, movies in the theater fiction reading and not a fan of 3D either. 🙂

  2. Jen

I love reading posts like this! I don’t get the hype around 3d glasses either and it’s super expensive!

  3. I’m so with you on 3D glasses, hate them. I hate wearing two pairs of glasses. I have tired even with my contacts on and still hated it. haha

  4. I love Psych too, but I think you knew that 😉 And yes, I’m not much for 3D movies either. I find they give me headaches. Not fun!

  5. This was fun to read! I’m late to the party but will join in on Wednesday 🙂 I like my popcorn with just butter and salt too. I’ve never watched Psych before, can you believe that?

  6. I will have to check out Psych! I’ve never watched an episode. I love Game Night…with my family. My friends are REALLY competitive, and I’m not! I just like to have fun!

  7. Can anyone actually go to a movie and NOT have popcorn with butter and salt? I know I can’t. It’s not a movie otherwise. I’m sharing the allergy misery with you this year, and I’ve never been affected before. Not sure what’s up with that.

  8. So fun to read your responses to these questions! I just told Beth I’m not into the 3d glasses either—they make me dizzy so glad I’m not alone 🙂 also I love a good comedy and bowling is so much fun! I haven’t been in ages either; we should do something about that!!

    Xoxoxo

  9. I agree with the 3D glasses! They go over my glasses, so when I put them on, they just look the same as without? The colors are the only thing that’s changing? Glad I’m not the only one with that issue! Also yes on musicals! I’m still bummed on not being able to see Hamilton which stopped by a few weeks ago, but I’ve heard they’ll be back for the next two years in my city. EEP.

  10. I’m most definitely the odd one out, I love the smell of popcorn but absolutely hate it. I just can’t stomach it. The smell always reminds me of the movies. Sorry to hear you’re unwell Lauren, I have severe tonsilitis at the moment too and antibiotics aren’t working. Heading back again tomorrow for another solution. My husband only developed allergies in his thirties and it was like being hit with a brick wall. It took him years to find something that worked and he’s tried all the prescription and over the counter medication. Then he was prescribed a nasal spray and after a week all of his symptoms disappeared. The sore itchy eyes, dry mouth, blocked and rumny nose. Even the headaches. It costs around $50.00 Australian here and the spray lasts the month with two uses per day. Cheaper than tablets even. Might be worth checking out. I hope you feel better soon darling <3 <3

  11. Sorry about your allergies – hope you feel better soon.
These posts are great – I see a few bloggers have done it yesterday.
I love comedies as well and also don’t like 3D glasses – I get a headache each time (and unless I have my contacts in I have to wear them in front of my own glasses).
It is difficult to choose old sitcoms or new ones – I love Friends and King of Queens but there are alot of really good new sitcoms as well.

  12. I haven’t read The Perks of Being a Wallflower in forever, I need to read it again. I had to laugh about some of your friends being overly competitive with games, too funny! Some people are like that! I love my popcorn with just butter and salt, too! My husband loves 3D shows and always gets them, but I could really do without the glasses and 3D effects!

  13. […] 1. Walk or bike ride? I don’t have a bike, but I’d love one! Right now I just walk. Granted, there isn’t that many places close enough to go to where I live.  2. Favorite picnic food? I love picnics! I don’t know what my favorite food item is though. Watermelon maybe?  3. Pool or lake? Pool! I don’t know the last time I’ve swum in a lake. I’m lucky to have a pool and I love it.  4. Favorite flavor of ice cream? Oh gosh, I love most ice cream flavors. I really do love mocha chip though!  5. Ice cream cone or in a dish? In the summer? Cone! Eating the cone is half the fun.  6. Flip flops or slides? Flip flops, I guess, but I tend to wear gym shoes a lot in the summer if I’m walking somewhere.  7. Jean shorts or jean capris? I’ll go with both! I need more shorts in general, though not necessarily jeans.  8. Favorite summer fruit? Again – watermelon. So good! And refreshing! I also like pineapple.  Summer Lovin': A Q&A About All Things Summer! #tbbasks #ontheblog Click To Tweet 9. Corn on the cob or cut off the cob? I’m crazy and cut it off the cob; otherwise it’s stuck in my teeth!  10. Favorite summertime song? I don’t know! I love listening to bands during the summer time; makes you want to rock out and go to a show.  11. Favorite summertime activity? Being in the pool is always relaxing. I love reading IN the pool, so both of those things together is great.  12. Favorite berry? Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry or blackberry? Probably strawberry! Yum.  13. Bikinis, tankinis or one pieces? I usually wear a skirt and top, so whatever that is? It’s not a bikini because I don’t show off my stomach, but it makes getting in and out easier than a one-piece.  14. Dresses or skirts? I like both, but I probably have more dresses so I wear them as much as I can.  15. One word to describe summer? Adventures (there is usually always something to do, even if you’re at home).  *** *** Did you enjoy this post? Check out May’s TBB Asks: Entertainment Edition! […]
