This Is Us: Music From the Series

I’m sure I’m not the only one who fell in love with This Is Us. I like seeing the siblings growing up and the dynamic of how they all relate to each other in the present. There has only been one season but so much has happened already. I know my whole family is ready for the second season to begin. I absolutely love the music on the show and how it fits so well – there is sad, happy, melancholy, and upbeat music. All these things can perfectly describe the show This Is Us.

Luckily, This Is Us: Music From the Series is being released Friday, September 15. Order your copy here and be ready for season 2, coming back September 26 at 9 p.m. on NBC.

One of my favorite songs on the album is “Willin'” by Mandy Moore, one of the stars of the show. I’ve always been a fan of Mandy’s, whether it was her acting or her music, so I’m glad that her song from the show was included on this album. If you don’t know the song, check it out on Youtube here. It’s very country/folksy – I think it would appeal to a lot of people.

Another favorite is “Blues Run the Game” by Jackson C. Frank. This is one of those melancholy songs I was talking about earlier, but I love it. It feels like a song you could listen to while driving around at night. There are actually some moments where Frank’s voice reminds me of Johnny Cash.

  1. I think I’m the only person in the planet who doesn’t watch the show…eeeks! I started to watch it and I really do like it but I just couldn’t keep up with it. I will eventually go back to it but life just overwhelmed me and I need shows that made me feel silly 🙂
I do like the soundtrack though!

  2. I cannot get enough of “This Is Us”. I think we have 2 or 3 more episodes of season one and already I know I will miss it! There is so much feeling in every episode. I’m thrilled there is a soundtrack!

  3. I love the show, I didn’t get through all the episodes of season one though, but I’m going to try to finish them. The music is really good, I agree. It reminds me of Parenthood, they always had really great music in Parenthood too!

  4. ooh definitely interested. I only ever watched the first episode… but I liked it. I love Mandy Moore and Milo.. 🙂 I’d like it to watch the whole thing someday. I’ll have to check out her song because I haven’t heard it. I just saw that she is going to be in the movie version of The Darkest Minds (which I have not read yet!)! But that’s super exciting! 🙂 XO – Alexandra
