I love Thursday’s Fashion Files and I’ve been meaning to really take part in this weekly meme, so I’m excited to be co-hosting today!
Jeans are from Old Navy and the top is from Kohl’s.
Ever since I started losing weight this year, I’ve been more excited about shopping for clothes and finding new things to wear. I finally fit into so many of the styles I’ve seen around and loved. The outfit I’m wearing here is just one example of that. I like the whole cold-shoulder trend, so this top from Sonoma (I got mine at Kohl’s) is perfect for someone like me. I like the trend, but I don’t really love the tops of my arms, so voila! A shirt that has cold shoulders but also covers the areas I’m not a huge fan of showing off.
The jeans are actually ones I got at Old Navy. I saw them one day but wasn’t able to get them, so I immediately tried to search them out the next time I went. Lucky for me, I found my size on the clearance rack. You might have to click the above photo for a closer look, but the jeans have a bit of a layering blue pattern at the bottom. They aren’t typical jeans. They are really cute – and comfy too! I couldn’t find either of these items on the website, but feel free to search your local Kohl’s and Old Navy stores and see if you can find something similar!
Here’s a closer up shot so you can see more of the details on the shirt. I love how comfortable this outfit is without being slobby. Plus, if you want to take it from day to night, you can just swap out the bottoms and you’re ready to go!
What do you think? Do you like either of these pieces? Do you go for cute, but comfy, like me…or is it all about the glam?

Thanks for co-hosting! You look great in your cold shoulder top. I have one similar to yours and I like that it covers the upper arms too.

You look beautiful in blue! I need to go our Kohl’s up the street to see if I can find a similar blouse because I really like that! Hugs…RO

  3. The cold shoulder trend is really starting to grow on me! I’ll have to see if I can find a similar top because this is really cute!!

I love a cold shoulder top-it really is a lot nicer than just a tank top, and I find a lot of them are super flattering.

  5. You are looking FABULOUS Lauren and your skin looks so dewy and lovely. I love the idea of cold shoulder tops but I was badly sunburnt a few years ago on holiday (resulting in severe blisters and scarring) and feel really self conscious going sleeveless. This would be prefect for me and would give me a little more confidence showing off my arms again. Looks fabulous with the boyfriend jeans as well! <3 <3
