Chapters cover the cost of raising a toddler, feeding your toddler,
potty-training, tantrums, how to manage the holidays, and “how not to
die inside.”
Review: I might not be a parent yet, but I have known enough children in my life to be able to empathize with the crazy antics of a toddler that are detailed in this hilarious book. As the summary states above, this book is broken into various chapters and then Laditan shares information on this particular aspect of having a toddler.
One of the chapters I really enjoyed is called Asshole Parents and it details (with a lovely illustration for each) various types of parents that are sure to annoy most, such as The Fake Perfect Parent and Special Little Snowflake Parent.
I really loved the humor in this book, but it’s also a great book to show parents that you aren’t crazy. Dealing with a toddler (or even more than one!) is difficult and you don’t always get the credit you deserve. Toddlers are A**holes is definitely a book that could certainly offend some, but I think it’s a matter of understanding that the book is meant to be funny. There are obviously plenty of moments you love being with your child and parenting is great, but it’s also true that things don’t always go well and it’s okay to laugh about it!
I LOVE THIS! I'm not a parent yet either, but I completely relate too Lauren, toddlers and kids in general are a handful at times and any tool that allows parents to laugh and release some of that pressure at the end of the day while finding someone else to relate to is brilliant. If you enjoyed this, you should check out Go The F@ck to Sleep. It's a children's book written for adults and absolutely hilarious! Wonderful review Lauren, I'm all for anything that takes the pressure of parents and helps them de-stress through laughter <3
I'm not a parent either, but I do babysit my two nephews {4 and 6} all the time, so I would definitely be interested in checking this gem out!

I teach older kids, who are a handful, but I believe toddlers are even more of a handful. It's uncomfortable dealing with parents who think their children are angels who wouldn't do the thing you saw or heard them do. They do transform. It's amazing seeing adults, younger than I am, who I knew as terrors when they were young. Yes, it's all a phase. It's good to be able to laugh and commiserate about it.
It seems like an enjoyable read, toddlers can be quite a challenge indeed.

This is like my life every day, just now on the pages of a book! You just can't make up the stuff toddlers do. Lately mine has developed a taste for hamburger buns and runs around screaming at the top of her lungs, "Need buns! Need buns!!" Needless to say, we got a lot of weird looks at the store yesterday…..
This made me think of my sisters. One has 3 kids under 4 and one has 5 kids 5 and under (she has a set of twins). I think they could both appreciate this book!
Ha-ha, I think I needed this about 15 years ago, lol! This sounds fun and sure to put a smile on your face. There are moments I think when everyone can appreciate this book's title. Thanks for the review, Lauren 🙂

Seriously though, I can't even with that title. Best. Ever. Not a parent either, but my cousin has two you know what's, definitely sounds like the book to read.
Loving the fun title, whilst not a parent myself it certainly brings to mind some of the toddlers I've come across.

This sounds absolutely hysterical! I think I need a copy, even if all my kids are older and less a**holey now 😉 It can definitely be difficult to be a parent, but then again, it's not always easy to be a kid, or growing up either.

This does sound like a pretty comical book, in view of its book title ha! I'm so grateful my kids didn't give me a hard time as toddlers, but I can't deny how challenging it is to be consistent with their boundaries. It doesn’t end at the toddler stage either, I’m still having to stay on top of my kiddos!
Aha, even the title has me laughing so I feel like this one would be great. I also don't have my own children but I have watched over enough to relate, for sure.
So funny! Yes, I think this is definitely the type of book that you'd have to go into with an open mind. 🙂

Oh, toddlers are absolutely, unequivocally assholes! I have got to get this book, I had no idea it was at BEA either- I would have hunted it down for sure! I love the Asshole Parent thing too- I need to read about the Special Snowflake hahah. I wonder if my toddler thinks I am an ashole parent? Thanks for the fun review!!
