Say What You Will by Cammie McGovern

Release Date: June 3, 2014

Summary: Born with cerebral palsy, Amy can’t walk without a walker, talk without a voice box, or even fully control her facial expressions. Plagued by obsessive-compulsive disorder, Matthew is consumed with repeated thoughts, neurotic rituals, and crippling fear. Both in desperate need of someone to help them reach out to the world, Amy and Matthew are more alike than either ever realized.

When Amy decides to hire student aides to help her in her senior year at Coral Hills High School, these two teens are thrust into each other’s lives. As they begin to spend time with each other, what started as a blossoming friendship eventually grows into something neither expected.

Why I Want to Read: This book is being compared to The Fault in Our Stars (which I loved) and Eleanor and Park (which I am dying to read). That alone makes me curious about this one. Plus, I love a good contemporary novel with unique characters and this summary promises loads of that! I’m jealous of all you bloggers that already have a copy. I can’t wait to see some reviews; I hope they are positive.

  1. Okay, so firstly- what a cool-sounding premise! Amy seems like a super likable main character, and I can't wait to meet her! 😀 But the fact that it's being compared to TFiOS just pretty much seals the deal: I have to read this! Thanks for sharing, Mag- this looks so so good <3 x 🙂

  2. okay, I loved The Fault in Our Stars, but I didn't really like Eleanor and Park. *ducks* =P

But I think I'll try this book anyway because it sounds really interesting. =) Thanks for sharing!

  3. Wow I love the sound of this! I feel like it would be super emotional and I'm definitely looking forward to reading it because emotional books like these just make me cry. Fantastic pick! <33

  4. Sounds like a book that would make me cry. I still can't bring myself to read Fault of Our Stars even though I've had a copy for such a long time. Great pick! 🙂
