Happy Monday! It’s been a month since the official start of Winter and it’s time to give you all a little update on how my Winter Bucket List is faring. Granted, most of these were pretty holiday specific…so if I missed them, then I’ve missed them until next Christmas. Be sure to click the linky below to see how the other bloggers are doing!
(#ontheblog) Winter Bucket List Update: Have you crossed everything off your list? #bucketlist #winterbucketlist Click To Tweet- Make Christmas Cookies: I did indeed! My sister and I had our annual Christmas Cookie Exchange Party so we both made some cookies for that.
- Watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas: I watched the majority of it at my brother’s house when we went to Louisiana for Christmas, so I count this as a yes!
- Eat a S’more: I ate a lot of fun treats…but not a s’more! This was something I was going to do when I went to another item on the bucket list (which didn’t happen).
- Do a Random Act of Christmas/Kindness: I did a few actually!
- Read a Christmas Book: Yes, I did! You can read a couple of my reviews here.
- Go to Festival of Lights: This takes place at the Cincinnati Zoo and I didn’t make it this year. I was going to eat my s’more (see number 3) here, but alas, it just got too busy and then the days we could possibly have gone, it was way too cold!
- Go to WinterFest: This takes place at King’s Island, and we did go once! It would have been fun to go at least twice, but maybe next year!
- Make a Christmas Gift: Sadly, no. I had a couple library events I was going to attend to make a gift for someone, but I ended up not making it to them for one reason or another.
- Drive Around to See Lights: Not officially, which means we didn’t drive around with that in mind, but we did drive around a lot and saw bunches of lights just from traveling so I call it a win!
- Go to a Cyclones Game: I’m actually going to one this Saturday; my ticket was a Christmas gift from my sister, so I’m counting this. I can’t wait! Oh and the Cyclones is Cincinnati’s hockey team by the way!
- Decorate Gingerbread: I still have my gingerbread camper van! Hopefully it’s not too messed up, because I do plan on decorating it still…so not yet for this one, but it will happen!
- Write and Decorate Cards: Yes! They weren’t as homemade as I would have liked, but I did write and send out cards…and some included fun stickers, so it counts!
All in all, that’s 8/12 and it’ll be 9/12 once I do my camper van gingerbread!
Do you have a winter bucket list? How are you doing on yours?
Check out the other blogger’s Winter Bucket List Updates!
Yay! Congrats for getting most of your tasks done. π I don’t really have a seasonal bucket list, since in our country we don’t have four seasons. D:
Great list to make winter a little less horrible ;-). I don’t have one myself but maybe I should. Would make the cold months a little more tolerable maybe!
I see these every season and feel like I should do this with my kids, then I forget. But I did tell matt we ARE making one for this summer because I’ll be damned if we do nothing all summer.
You’ve been doing wonderful, which is awesome!
Great job on accomplishing so many items on your list! I never remember to do these things but I love that you wrote them on popsicle sticks. It would be super fun to pull one of them out at a time each weekend or so and do with the kiddos!
We didn’t actually put a list together but instead we kinda winged it. Probably would have done more if I had a list! But we will for spring for sure! Look at you crossing stuff off your list girl! Go you!
Yay! Congrats on getting so much of your winter bucket list done! I didn’t make one, but I got to go ice skating over the weekend and I feel like that’d be on my list if I had one! (I’m just gonna count it. π )
Wow you have done a great job on getting things done on your list. Way to go.
You did well! I never made a winter bucket list!
I live in Columbus and had no idea King’s Island has a Winterfest, I want to check it out next year. I don’t make to-do lists so I don’t feel guilty when I don’t complete them. lol
Looks like you have done a lot of your list so far! That is awesome! I have crossed a few off but there are plenty more. There’s still lots of winter left though so I’m guessing I’ll get around to more of them soon!
Seems like you are making the most of this winter!
I love your ideas! Thanks for sharing:)

9/12 is pretty good! Sounds like a fun winter.
Glad you got some of these done! Maybe you can make a s’mores still at home! π I didn’t get to our Zoo either for their lights, the weather turned bitterly cold!

It looks like you did a lot of fun things over the holidays. Well done. I love the gingerbread camper van idea. Can’t wait to see photos of the finished product. Enjoy the rest of your winter!
Iβd say youβre doing amazingly well! Thatβs too bad that the zoo event didnβt work out. But hooray for random acts of kindness! π
It seems you followed through on many items on your list. I’m impressed. I didn’t do as well as you, I’m afraid.
Wow. I am impressed with how much you have completed on your bucket list already. Awesome! Keep it up!
I think you did awesome on your bucket list–nice going! You still have plenty of time to eat a s’more though. That one needs to move up on the priority list π
Aww these are great! I love writing cards – I hand write them in shimmery ink and send them out π I love that you had winter goals! I didn’t have any winter goals, but I’ve got monthly goals that I work on π
Sounds like you had a lot of winter-y fun!
Wow, that’s a lot of things crossed off your list!
I’ve never done a bucket list before, but I like Christmas and I’m sure I would have enjoyed many of the activities. For instance, I did bake Christmas cookies, the post will be up on my blog this Friday. π
You got so many things accomplished from your holiday checklist!! This was so fun to read. The holidays always go by so quickly…I feel like i want to watch the Grinch and decorate gingerbread houses now. Never too late, right??
I love your list and you completed way more than most people I know. I make holiday cards every year. Its my gift to the family. The one year I didn’t, I heard an earful from, ha! The Muppet’s Christmas Carol is my go – to holiday favorite.
I love this idea, great post!
Wow, you did great getting to as many items as you did. Well done! I hope you’ll be doing one for Spring as well. I enjoy your bucket list posts π
I love that you sent out cards! I love that tradition and I’m sad that it seems to be falling away in the modern era…getting “digital holiday greetings” in a Facebook message is just…not the same. Glad you’re having a busy and fun winter!
I call 9/12 a win! Sounds like you had a fun Christmas season!
You seem to be doing pretty good! I totally forgot to make a bucket list, but had a lot of ideas in my head. I got to most of them. π
Put me down next year to send you a Christmas card Lauren. That sounds fun. Like you, I totally adore looking at Christmas lights every year, and some are really over the top. Glad you were able to see some from driving too. Hugs…RO
What a fun list! Youβve done so much! I want to do something like this with my kids, I bet theyβd love it.
I’m terrible with lists and you think being organised would be the opposite but apparently that doesn’t apply to me. It’s almost as though I’m determined NOT to do them. I wish I was even half as crafty and creative as your lovely self. Well done Lauren, I’ve loved watching your posts as you’ve ticked these off the list <3
No s’mores?! Well there is still Jan, and Feb, and pretty much every month of th year, because they are that good π
Yay, for your Christmas acts of kindness!
Yay, as I have been reminded by several gals…it’s all about forward progress, something we both made plenty of. Glad you made it to King’s Island. I am sure that was fun. The gingerbread chair and giant cookie were so cute. You can do s’mores this weekend for Super Bowl!
That gingerbread camper is adorable!! I know a couple of camping aficionados who would eat that up…pardon the pun. Going to pin that. Have never made a gingerbread anything before. I think next Christmas is my year.
Hey, I want to do the glossies…can you send me a reminder or a schedule of the dates so I can pencil that into my agenda that I am actually using? Thank you!
Hey Leslie! Glossies Made Me Do it is every first Friday of the month, so February would be the 2nd and March is the 2nd, etc. etc. We’d love to have you!!
Not bad!
I don’t have a bucket list but I wanted to ride my new bike on our local 5 mile trail. i thought it would take all winter to work up to that but I did it already.
For What It’s Worth
Wow great job at following through on most of those!
I love this list. So many fun things on there. 9/12 is pretty awesome too!
Way to go!!!
I have a winter bucket/to-do list and I actually think I’m doing ok with it! Good for you on completing so many! I love looking at lights and going to outdoor events, but sometimes it’s just too cold to fit those activities in!
This is such a great idea – I am going to unabashedly do the same thing for this Christmas π Europafox x
You did great! 8/12 is a great ratio. I didn’t have a specific list like this but perhaps this coming winter! I like the idea of a bucket list, perhaps for each season. π Wonderful post!
Have a lovely week. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Lauren, you had me at gingerbread camper van! As a decades long lover of RV travel, this I can’t wait to see! ?
One of the things I love most about these linkups is the glimpse into other peoples lives they provide, such as your’s in Cincinnati. It’s a city I’ve never visited, but you’ve now inspired me to get there and give it a whirl.
I look forward to your next update!
Not bad at all! Sounds like a lot of fun was had π
