Bride Wars Review
By: Lauren

I found Bride Wars to be a fun film that girlfriends will love seeing together. It’s not downright hilarious, but I did find it funny in most instances and I think Kate Hudson did a brilliant job. It was a lot of fun to see former Reba star Steve Howey as well, since I haven’t seen him play any character apart from Van.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how soon should you see this film? I’d say about a…3. It’s a good Girls’ Night Out flick that will probably have most women nodding along with the crazy jealousy and antics some girls really do get up too, but it’s nothing that it’s utterly important to view right away.

When going to see any movie, I love to see the trailers in the beginning. If I miss them, it’s always a real bummer, because it’s my main way of seeing what will be coming out in the future. While I was at the theater seeing Bride Wars, I saw the trailer for All About Steve, which starts Sandra Bullock and comes out in March. I think it looks cute, funny, and I love that Sandra is playing such a quirky, fun character.

  1. This one was really cute…I saw it with a group of girlfriends. It was a bit cheesy and predictable, but OMG don’t you love their dresses? Sooo gorgeous!

  2. Love Kate Hudson – and Van! I’ll probably wait until it comes out on video to watch it…

Something that just came out on video which you may enjoy due to Kate Hudson… My Best Friend’s Girl. Unfortunately it wasn’t offered in any theatres in my town (dang those small college towns!), but I was so excited to rent it! It’s so worth the four dollars! Dane Cook is hilarious, and him and Kate Hudson definitely feed off of each other – if you rent it, let me know how you like it!

  3. Bookworm: I did like their dresses, and I agree with what you said. It’s predictable, but fun and definitely a good movie to see with friends.

Mitzy: Yeah, waiting until DVD would be good. And I really love Steve (Van) as well.

I really do want to see this. I think Dane is pretty funny most of the time and I do love Kate. If I get a shot to rent it, I’ll let you know!!!

    Hey,

Thanks for leaving the comment at my blog! Your blog looks really interesting too! I saw the trailer for Bride Wars and just didn’t like it, but the All About Steve one looks interesting.

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. I’ll probably watch Bride Wars when it’s out on DVD-it looks cute, but nothing I’m rushing out to see.

I do want to see the new Sandra Bullock movie, except I’m not loving the blonde hair she has in that one. But other than that it looks fun!

  6. Hum: You’re welcome and thanks for stopping by! I think Bride Wars is one of those things where you’ll find it funny/good or you simply regret going to see it in some ways.
I think All About Steve looks fun though!!

Diana: She really is a good actress, from what I’ve seen her in. She tends to play some different types of roles, and that’s always nice.

Sarah: Sounds like a plan! It definitely is a good DVD film.
I’m not a huge fan of the hair either, but I think it’s simply to go with her out-there personality for this one and it works! 🙂

  7. Lenore: They kind of turn into ones…their weddings are accidently booked on the same day and both of them refuse to change it so they try and sabotage their friends’ weddings!
