Review: I’m a huge Harry Potter fan so when I was offered this book to review, I had to say yes. I wasn’t sure how much of the information I would already know though since I used to know a TON. I’m not as invested in all H.P. news but I’m still a fan and want to know as much as I can when I have the chance. This is a fun book, especially for newer Harry Potter fans. They even connect some information from the books to real-life events like the Salem Witch Trials and WWII  which I thought was a bit interesting.

I enjoyed a part in the book where they line up Dumbledore with Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings to show you the resemblances between them through various quotes they have both said. I love quotes, for one thing, and it was fun to see the wise words both men had to give through their repsective series.

As I said, I love quotes, so I did enjoy a little break down in the book of some actors and actresses in the film. Included was a quote for pretty much all of them which was really fun. There is even a full list of the H.P. characters in the back, as well as other fun tidbits concerning the H.P. fandom.

One thing that I read that I thought was amusing, and hadn’t heard before, was that J.K. Rowling’s second husband looks a lot like her character, Harry Potter. He has the hair, the glasses…if you’ve seen a photo of her husband, you should know what I’m talking about!

In general, this is a fun book to add to any H.P. collection. It would be a great stocking stuffer this holiday season! For die-hard fans, you might find you know a lot of this or that the lists of things are something you do not need a refresher on; though it’s always nice to have!
