Review: I have seen Happy Toy Machine around for awhile now so I knew I wanted to get in touch with them from the beginning. I am very lucky that they not only got back to me about being in the A to Z gift guide but that they were willing to offer a review item for myself and a giveaway item for the rest of you (and really, who doesn’t like a nice giveaway?!)

Basically, I was given a gift code to go onto their website and create my toy. It’s very easy. All you do is visit their website or go to this Create Your Toy direct link.

From here, you have some choices. You can decide to make a mixalot, a smushimal, or a plushling. The mixalots are the biggest and seem to offer more of a chance to personalize. This would make a great gift for an older child, especially one that could help create their own, personalized stuffed animal. The plushling are a bit smaller but still very cute! You can choose from a robot, animal, or more! The last item and the one I went with were the smushimals. These are the smallest stuffed animals and since my mom and I were creating a toy for my niece, we figured this would be the best option.

The smushimals are great because you get so many options for the base of your new “pet” from a bunny to a cat to even a lobster or a whale! They also offer spiders (among others) which would not be my thing at all, but if you have a little kid that loves the creepy-crawlys, now you know it’s an option! My mom and I went with a cat as it’s pretty cute and I figured it would suit a young girl!

Once you have chosen your stuffed animal, it gets really fun…and believe me, it takes some time, so make sure you don’t try and create your item quick! Don’t worry, it’s easy to use. The time is because there are so many options and in my experience, my mom had a tough time deciding what designs she wanted for the cat and what colors everything should be (the colors definitely proved difficult to decide on. We just wanted it to be perfect!)

Before I go on, here’s our final product-

As you can see, we decided on a green cat with blue for the feet, ears, and tail. You can pick different colors for the last three things, so it could be quite an eclectic mix of colors. We didn’t want to do too much, but I think a kid helping to make this might want to go crazy, and why not? It’s fun! We chose the typical cat face and made sure it had whiskers…and we even picked the girly eyes so it could be a female cat for my niece, and the cat has blue eyes just like Bella. Yes, her name is Bella, which is why you can see that white writing on the side with her name (we chose the white color). Awesome touch to this cat! You could also pick a fun design for the cat’s back and we chose the filled in hearts, making them a simple red (but you could do a different color).

I wish I could have gotten a picture of my niece holding the cat, but unfortunately, she’s an army brat and they don’t live near enough to just stop by and get the picture. Regardless, I love this cat and I think she will enjoy it oh so much when she gets it this Christmas! I also wanted to mention that we chose the $5 extra for a super soft plush, and it’s wonderful. Therefore, I’m not sure what it would feel like if you didn’t have the soft plush, but I would recommend it because I couldn’t stop “petting” the cat. It’s ridiculously soft and I think that’s even better for my niece since she’s young.

Don’t you just want your own adorable stuffed animal? Of course you do! So enter below, and be quick! This one ends soon so you can get your order out before Christmas orders stop!

  1. Oh man I definitely need to come back and enter this one! My kids would LOVE this! I MUST remember to come back when I get on the computer tomorrow. So cute!

  2. My kids and I (DJ is 9 and June is 2) made a Spider Smushable and they named him Creepy! He has horns and wings, and is grey and black. They loved the process on the computer, and would be psyched to actually be able to make another one and receive it in the mail! Thanks for the chance to win:)

  5. I made a plush named BahBahGoat!! I wish it had the option for a beard. Otherwise it is going to make a great Christmas gift for my mother in law that raises pygora goats for their fiber.
