Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that
spotlights upcoming releases people are excited for.

Title: Siege and Storm (The Grisha Trilogy #2)
Author:
Leigh Bardugo
Publisher:
Henry Holt and Co. (BYR)

Format: Hardcover, 448 pages
Release Date:
June 4, 2013

Summary:

Darkness never dies.

Hunted across the True Sea, haunted by the lives she took on the Fold, Alina must try to make a life with Mal in an unfamiliar land, all while keeping her identity as the Sun Summoner a secret. But she can’t outrun her past or her destiny for long.

The Darkling has emerged from the Shadow Fold with a terrifying new power and a dangerous plan that will test the very boundaries of the natural world. With the help of a notorious privateer, Alina returns to the country she abandoned, determined to fight the forces gathering against Ravka. But as her power grows, Alina slips deeper into the Darkling’s game of forbidden magic, and farther away from Mal. Somehow, she will have to choose between her country, her power, and the love she always thought would guide her–or risk losing everything to the oncoming storm.

Why I want it:

Not only do I looooooove Shadow and Bone, but it also happens to be one of
my favorite books! I love Alina and Mal, and I find the Darkling incredibly intriguing, so I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to meet new characters, see new settings, read about Alina and Mal being together, and find out more about the Darkling. Basically, I’m dying for Siege and Storm!

And it has a gorgeous cover. I see a dragon on there, so I hope that means a dragon will be in it (I love dragons)!

I just really want the book now! At least June 4th isn’t too far
away (it currently feels really far away though).

What
are you waiting on?

I can't wait to hear what you think of it! I was lucky enough to read an advanced copy and loved it as much as the first. It will be June before you know it! 🙂

  2. It's official: I'm the last person on Earth who hasn't read Shadow and Bone… and I even own a copy.
Well, at least the flu I'm struggling with now is good for something. I get to stay home and read, which means I'll probably find the time for it.
