This June, The Blog of Erised and Uncorked Thoughts are honoring Mental Health Awareness Month. I think what they are doing is a great thing, and if you want to help spread the word about mental health, you should sign up. All you have to do is read and review books that deal with various mental health issues during the month of June. I have a lot scheduled ahead of time, but I am going to try and review at least a couple books that fit the bill, so come and join me! Check out the details and link up here.
I also wanted to share some new feature ideas that I hope to start implementing in June as well. I already have Theming Thursday, but I also hope to add-
Shooting Thoughts: these will be discussion posts and things of that nature
Star Match: this will be where I match up blogs that I think are similar and would enjoy each other’s content.
Bridge the Gap: I have a blog with this title already and the original idea was to include reviews of entertainment from other countries. Since the blog was a bit much to handle, I wanted to make this a feature where I can still review movies, books, music, etc. from other countries (aka anything other than the United States, where I live).
I have a really bad “banner” for my Theming Thursday posts that I made myself but nothing yet for the three new ideas above. I’d love a little button or banner for each of these (so four in all). If you or someone you know is good at that sort of thing, please get in touch or let me know! I’m willing to pay of course. I’d really like things to have a nicer look. You can email me here: lauren51990 AT aol DOT COM
Star Match sounds cool.
The Mental Health Awareness Month sounds like a really great idea, I'll have to check it out. Can't wait to see the new features!
It's a really interesting idea, if only I had not that many books to read.
I wish I had to talent to make banners but I sadly don't. 🙁
Oooh yay for new features!
These new features sound so cool, looking forward to seeing them!
Love the idea for this challenge. I don't have any books about mental problems in my TBR list, though.
These features all sound wonderful Lauren! Can't wait to see what you come up with! 😀 I'm going to make you some banners for those features, so be on the lookout for an email from me soon! 😉

This is a great idea. I probably won't join in because I just don't. LOL It's because I set myself up for failure and can never keep up BUT I love that you are all doing this. Mental Health Awareness IS important and I am working on a post about Mental Health (hopefully up this week).
OH PS- I can't wait to read your reviews/posts on the books you will be reading!
Love the sound of Star Match, and well heck Lauren these are all great ideas. Go you!
Your new features sound great!
And I used Paper Blog Designs for my blog, they're great girls and can do small work like a few banners 😉

I'd love to see your reviews for movies from other countries. There are some real gems out there that take some time to discover over here in the States. 🙂
Ah, right on Lauren! I'm definitely looking forward to your mental health book reviews. What a great idea!
And as for your other new features, GREAT ideas! Seriously, I'm interesting with all of those – love discussion posts and foreign entertainment, and Star Match is a neat idea!
I like the sound of these new features.
You have the best blogging ideas! I'm
looking forward to your new features and what you review for Mental Health Awareness month!
Terrific ideas! I love the Shooting Stars one! I would be happy to help you with some banners. Just shoot me an email.
Sorry. I meant Shooting Thoughts and Star Match. That's what I get for trying to do more than one thing at a time. 🙂
Sounds like good ideas! I was going to recommend Ginny but also Lori at Pure Imagination is really reasonably priced. You'd have to email her though.
These are some really great ideas. I love the one about matching up blogs that are similar. Sometimes I get so excited when I find a blog that is similar to my interests!! Looking forward to this.
