sister, Margo, at his side, Nick stands by his innocence. Trouble is, if
Nick didn’t do it, where is that beautiful wife? And what was in that

Review: I’ve been a fan of Gillian Flynn since her first book, Sharp Objects, came out. I read it with the online book club I was a part of at the time. Then, when Dark Places was coming out, I was lucky enough to receive a book for review. Then, Flynn comes out with her latest novel, Gone Girl. I bought it the week it came out but because of life and reading all sorts of other books, I just recently sat down to read the book. And here we are…with the film version of Gone Girl being released this October and I’m finding myself even more excited to see it.
As for the actual book, it’s probably best if you know as little as possible about Gone Girl before reading it. It’s told in parts, through various points of view, and it paints a picture of domestic bliss turned angry…but did it turn violent? That’s the ultimate question of course. Nick might not be the best husband, but is he bad enough to kill his wife? I found myself questioning him while I read, as I’m sure most will, because he honestly does not help himself when it comes to certain situations.
Because I said less is better for this book, I won’t really say much more. Of course, I did really enjoy this book. Gillian Flynn is one of my favorite authors and I’d recommend her books to anyone who likes darker mysteries. My favorite of her work is still Dark Places, but I can see why so many people have fallen for Gone Girl. It takes a story from the headlines, one we so often see, and mixes it up into a shocking, horrifying read.

I have heard a lot of people say that about this, that it is better not knowing anything (even reading the synopsis) before starting it. I will definitely be reading this before the movie releases!
I'll admit, I'm not actually interested in reading the book because it's just not generally the type of thing I like to read. That being said, I definitely want to check out the movie because BEN AFFLECK <3
I read Sharp Objects and want to read Dark Places . . . when I started the audio book of Gone Girl, though, I couldn't get into it. I may need to try reading it again.

I felt the twist in Gone Girl wasn't that surprising, but I am looking forward to the movie.
I've got myself a copy of Sharpe Object and I plan to read it before this one. I haven't seen the trailer yet as I want to read the book first. But I hope the movie will be good. Great review 🙂

I loved this book except for the ending was a bit messed up. I totally can't wait for the movie.
I definitely want to read this one but it seems like such a slow book that I feel as if I'd lose my interest in it. Still, I'm curious about the mystery at hand and will hopefully find the time to pick up this hefty volume. Great review!
I've grown to love Flynn. I read Gone Girl first then went back to Sharp Objects which reminded me so very much of Flowers in the Attic.

And I prefer the original trailer that you posted. Knowing the plot of the book and have it put against such a lovely love song gives me chills!

I haven't heard of this one but it sounds like an interesting read. You've made me really curious as to whether Nick is actually a murderer or not.
Wow, I had no idea this was going to be a movie! That's pretty cool. I've heard lots about the book but was iffy on picking it up but I really like your review.
I haven't read anything by Flynn, and I guess I've been nervous about picking GG up. It sounds good, but I'm afraid of disappintment. Thank you for not spoiling it! I'll give it a try!

I didn't expect the twist and turns this book would take. An enjoyable and surprising novel but I thought the ending was a little weak.
