Subscription September: Beauty Boxes

Posted September 30, 2014 by shooting in Uncategorized / 12 Comments

Hey everyone! Today is the last Subscription September post. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to do more, but I hope you found some new subscriptions. Since so many people seemed to have the most experience with beauty boxes, I thought I’d highlight some. If you want any more subscription suggestions, just shoot me an email! Don’t forget to check out my Escape Monthly box review!

Ipsy Beauty Bag
$10 a month- free shipping

Each month you get a mix of samples and full-sized products. From what I can tell on the website, they give you some really cool items to test out, and $10 a month is something I could easily afford. The website makeup alley has a list of reviews from the past year about Ipsy; not all of them are positive, but again, I think this would be worth trying only because the cost would be low.

Lip Factory, Inc.
$22 a month with free shipping for those in the U.S. and Puerto Rico

From their website: Each
month, you will receive your Lip Factory Beauty Kit containing 5 to 7
of your favorite makeup brands. Although your kit may include a full
face of makeup products, our focus is on your lips! Your kit may include
lip products such as lip glosses, lip sticks, lip liners and lip
therapy products. Our products are chosen each month by our expert team
of beauty specialists and makeup artists.

The blog Girl Meets Box has a whole archive of monthly reviews for this subscription; all of them look to be from 2013 though.

French Box
$24 a month. First time users can get their first box for $14; use coupon code firstbox

I’ve never been to France, but it is a country I would really like to visit. My sister, however, has been there and she really loved it. I think this would be a perfect gift for her and anyone else that loves all things France!

According to their website, each box includes 5 products from French brands: fashion, cosmetics, gourmet, goodies, etc.

My Subscription Addiction reviewed the September box, and if you read through the comments, you’ll see some other mini reviews from people!

Walmart Beauty Box
You only pay for shipping, which is $5- you get a new box every season (so every three months)

Slashed Beauty reviewed the Fall 2014 box (the first box ever!) and she really loved her items. She said there are two versions of the box, though, and she thought hers was the best. I think this is a good deal though for how much you pay!

There you go; some new beauty box ideas! Again, if you want more ideas or have questions, shoot me an email (lauren51990 AT aol DOT com) or leave a comment below.

  1. I am really thinking about doing Ipsy! For awhile I was using Glossybox, which I really loved, but at $21 bucks a month it seemed a bit much and I was only working part time for awhile, but I might try Ipsy first and then maybe go back to Glossybox.

  2. $5 is a good price point.

I did Julep once, and hated it. Their nail polish is absolute crap. Thin, dries super slow, nicks easily, and chips quickly. Worst polish I've ever used, and I didn't get to pick my colors.
