Getting to Know (3) + Questions Answered

Don’t you just love my official button for the Getting to Know feature? I have Kelly over at the amazing blog Diva Booknerd to thank! She’s fantastic. Thank you so much, Kelly!

Getting to Know (3):  In a week and a half I’ll be starting my final semester in Graduate school. Some of you know this, but for those that do not, I am getting my Master’s of Science in Library Science (which means I can be an official librarian). My dream librarian job is probably working with teens, but we’ll see what the future holds. It’s difficult to get a librarian job these days.

Answered from the Blog:

I had a couple questions left on my review for Joyland by Stephen King, so I wanted to go ahead real quick and answer those!

1. Will you be reading more in the future? (as in Stephen King books)

I do want to try more of Stephen King in the future. You always hear great things, but I’m not interested in everything he’s done. I do want to try out a few though. I’m definitely interested in reading everything Joe Hill has written though (Joe Hill is Stephen King’s son).

2. I’m actually scared to read Misery. Why did you find it just okay?

I read Misery in high school so it’s definitely been awhile since I’ve read it. I think it just dragged to be honest. It could have been more suspenseful if it wasn’t as long, I think.

  1. I've only read one Stephen King book so far… and that was Carrie. I read it earlier this year. It was pretty short, though, so I didn't find that it dragged at all.

  2. Misery is a book that I really need to read, I've seen the movie a few times and really enjoyed it. I read my first King book last year (Mr Mercedes) and loved it!

  3. Wow, that's so awesome that you're going to be starting your final semester of grad school!! I bet you're going to be a fantastic librarian. Crossing my fingers for you about getting a job working with teens. <33

I really do need to pick up some Stephen King books- while, like you, I don't think that all his books are for me, I'm intrigued by many! I also had no idea Joe Hill was his son… just goes to show that I'm living beneath a rock. 😛

Love this feature so much (& that adorable button!!) 😀

  4. Stephen King has a way with storytelling. Even those who don't like his horror/thriller style can appreciate his way with words. It's as if you can't stop reading, whether your a fan of the plot or not. ;]
As for me, I am a huge Stephen King fan and love his style. There will definitely be more SK in my future ;]

BTW, I love the banner :]

  5. I didn't know a Librarian's master's was a science degree! Well, I think at my university it is actually a Master's of Information degree. But being a Master of Library Science makes sense! Good luck to you, Lauren. There isn't a lot of job prospects in my field either, but if it's what you want to do, then you'll work your way up to it someday somehow!
