Sign-Up Post: 2016 Unique Formatting Book Challenge

Posted December 8, 2015 by shooting in Uncategorized / 16 Comments

Hello Everyone!

I decided to go ahead and create a book challenge for 2016 and it’s titled the Unique Formatting Book Challenge. Clever, right? haha Please use the button above on your own blog or share it around!

I love books that have different means of telling a story and I thought it might be fun to read as many of these in the new year as I could.

Types of different formats-

*Books with letters/diaries/emails/i.m.’s, etc.
*Books with drawings/photos, etc.
*Books like Illuminae that have a mix of different things!
*Books with footnotes
–etc. etc.

I’ll try and make a post soon with some specific ideas, but hopefully that will get you thinking of what you could possibly read!

Please use this post to sign up! I don’t have everything figured out yet, but I will have a few giveaways throughout the year for people that take part in the challenge and link up their reviews! I’m thinking of having a link-up every month for you to share your challenge reviews too as I definitely want to come and visit and I’m sure people will be curious to see what everyone else is reading!

As for goals you can strive for—

5 Books Read: Uniquely Good

10 Books Read: Uniquely Great

15+ Books Read: Uniquely Awesome

As the host, I feel like I should strive for 15+ books but we’ll see! That’s my ultimate goal though.

If you would like to take part, please link up your blog below. You are not required to make a challenge post but it would be awesome if you did and feel free to link THAT post up instead of just your actual blog – or leave a link in the comments so I can visit!

  1. Sounds interesting. Not a challenge I can see myself joining in as as you know I tend to stay clear of books with a diary etc format. I will however spread the word as I'm sure a lot of bloggers will be interested in this as as far as I know no one is doing anything similar.

  2. There are some books that have a different than usual format where that is making the story even better 🙂 One that comes to mind is A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan 🙂 There are different characters having their chapters, and one of those chapters is like a powerpoint presentation.
    Have fun with this, Lauren.

  3. I might sign up for this. I'll look through all the books I have on my TBR shelf and if I can find a number of them like that, then I may sign up! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

  4. This challenge sounds like so much fun – I'm still figuring out my challenge plans, but this one is near the top of my list of possibles. I'd like to shake myself out of my boring old reading habits. One thing I keep saying I'd like to try is a book written in verse – but I haven't done it yet!!

Oh, and I'll definitely add this to my list of challenges, which is going up tomorrow!

  5. Aww darn, I missed the linky! But that is okay! I am aiming for the 15+ because quite frankly, I LOVE uniquely formatted books, plus I have already read two of them 😀 I will add the button to my page where I keep my challenges and events and such!
