Summary:

Review:

Holy Crap! This book was beyond amazing! The characters, the plot, the setting, everything was excellent! I could honestly just gush and gush about this book, but I won’t because I doubt anyone wants to only hear me gush.

My favorite character, hands down was Henry, Lia and Alice’s little brother. I just totally adored him. And because he was my favorite, I wanted more of him. The way he acted and talked was great. My brother should act like him! Henry was very mature and even though Lia couldn’t always see it, he was always watching out for her. Almost everything he did was for her. Even though Henry was confined to his wheelchair, he still helped in any way he could. This is slightly spoilery, but I absolutely hated what happened to him. And that’s all I’ll say about that.

James was another one of my literary boy crushes. What is it with most boys in YA being absolutely amazing, but the real ones usually suck? Hate that. Anyways, even though James wasn’t in the book that much—and I wished he was in more—I totally understood why he wasn’t in there a lot more.

I loved the relationship between Lia and Alice. Almost every book has twins as either being best friends or polar opposites, but this was something totally knew. From the beginning, before they were even born, their fate was written and they were meant to never get along. I loved that they had to fight each other.

All of the twists and turns in here were sooo good. This was one of those books where I’d think I had it figured out, but I would be wrong. There were only a few things that I saw coming, but I didn’t mind. I actually found a lot of the stuff surprising. All of the riddles from the prophecy were great. I kept trying to figure them out, but I couldn’t. Also, this book started out great. I was hooked from the first page!

The only two things I didn’t like were very minor. I would have liked to know more about their mother’s past—actually more about the generations of sisters before them, but I assume that’ll happen in the next 2 books—and I found it a bit weird that there were people who knew about the prophecy and everything. And that those people would help them. But other than that, totally adored the book.

Cover: I really liked this cover. It was eerie like the book. Also, I loved the designs in the book.
