I’m a few days late, but it’s time for My Month is Booked, hosted by Fairyburger. Since I haven’t posted in awhile, here are some random mini reviews of books that I have recently read.

Our Secrets Were Safe by Virginia French is a book that I was sent for review. It follows two women in the present day, and a third in the past, that all used to know each other in college. The one in the past is dead, but we don’t really know what happened. The two in the present definitely don’t want past secrets to be revealed though. This was a really good read. I liked all the POV’s because they felt needed. The book could be a tiny bit slow here and there but it overall had me guessing and wondering.

The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig was SO GOOD! I read it with a friend and we both gave it five stars. I’ll be honest, I don’t necessarily gravitate toward fantasy but I’ve really loved Rachel’s work. Definitely check it out, especially if you’re like me and don’t read a ton in the genre.

You Will Find Your People is a pretty short nonfiction book about making “meaningful friendships as an adult.” I do love a good nonfiction here and there. I can’t say this was my favorite. I liked the premise, and it had some good points, but I didn’t always relate to the stories. In general though, I do think it can be tough making new friends as an adult and I love when people write on that topic.

The Defense by Steve Cavanagh is the first book in a series. I’d seen other books through the years by him that sounded really good, so I finally decided to give them a shot and start with the first one. I hear you can read in any order, but there was a good online deal with the first so many books that I had to grab them. I hope to start book two soon. I liked The Defense. It could be a bit slow at times, but I am excited to read more in the series.
Have you read any of these? What have you been reading lately?

These are all new books to me! Thanks for sharing.
I really need to read Rachel Gillig. I don’t gravitate to romantasy at all, but I’ve heard nothing but good things!
