Where He Can’t Find You by Darcy Coates
This is the first book I’ve read by Coates but it won’t be the last. While this is YA, it still read a bit older, so don’t let that sway you away from reading this one. It’s a really spooky, interesting read. It kept me reading and wondering. I don’t want to say too much because it’s good to go in without knowing a lot of detail. Spooky season is almost upon us, and this would be a good addition!
Life in Five Senses: How Exploring the Senses Got Me Out of My Head and Into the World by Gretchen Rubin
I love Gretchen’s social science type of books. In her latest, she breaks down the five main senses and tries to pay attention to them more. Notice the things you smell, the things you taste, etc. It really made me want to be more in tune with my own senses. I thought some of her experiments were interesting and reading the book made me think of my own too. You’re not going to relate to or care about everything in this book, most likely, but I do think it will fascinate a lot of people.
Elephant and Castle by Hannah Ledford
This is actually the debut of one of my in-real-life friends, but I highly recommend it. The book mostly takes place in London and follows Nora, who is back years after studying abroad there, and two men who she used to know. I like that it’s a bit of a second chance romance – but with a twist. You get three POV’s, which really help to tell the full story. I loved the secondary characters, and the book made me want to go back to London ASAP. Definitely recommend!

Where He Can’t Find You is on my radar!
I’ve read other books by Gretchen Rubin but I hadn’t heard of Life in Five Senses. Sounds intriguing! How fun that your friend wrote a book!

I love it when I get recommendations for books. My list is never long enough. Thanks!
The first one was already on my TBR. Adding Elephant and Castle to my TBR, it sounds good! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Here’s to a good August!
When a book is able to keep you reading and wondering, it’s usually a good sign! And how cool that your friend published a book, it sounds cool, and I like the cover!
