December 2019: Currently (Holiday Edition)

I’m linking up for Currently and What’s New With You

Wrapping: Nothing yet, but I need to. I have two “secret santa” type boxes I need to mail this month, and I want to wrap most of the gifts before I send them. After that, I can start wrapping things for friends and family who live nearby. I’m not the best wrapper though. LOL

Baking: Again, nothing YET. I have my annual Christmas Cookie Exchange party this Saturday so I’m going to try and make a gluten-free cookie for that. We’ll see how it goes! I’ll keep you all updated.

Lighting: A candle that smells like coffee. Now that it’s December, I need to find a holiday scented one though – something like cinnamon maybe. I love the smell of cinnamon.

Sending: As I said above, I have a few boxes to mail out, and I need to write some letters and get those sent out too.

Enjoying: All the Christmas movies! I’ve been trying to watch the Hallmark and Lifetime ones, though I still have a ton recorded that I need to get to. I watched the first two episodes of the new holiday themed season of Nailed It! on Netflix, which I love. I’m definitely going to watch more of those soon. I love all the Holiday movies, shows, and specials.

Feel free to answer the prompts in the comments below, or let me know if you have your own Currently/What’s New With You post!

  1. Sounds festive! I’ve never done a cookie exchange, but I always loved the trays with so many varieties that my dad brought home every year. (He was a school teacher, so we had TONS of holiday cookies.) Enjoy them with your coffee-scented candle πŸ™‚ BTW, I think a coffee candle can TOTALLY fit the bill, holiday or not!

  2. A candle that smells like coffee sounds right up my alley, haha. I currently have one that smells like fresh pines, which is very fitting and smells a lot nicer than I thought.

I’m also watching all the Christmas movies! Which one is your favorite?

I haven’t watched the Holiday season of Nailed It yet, but it’s totally on my list. P.S. I have a big old stack or presents that need to be wrapped if you are looking to wrap something πŸ™‚

  4. Ooh, I haven’t watched any Christmas movies yet but now I want to! I love the newest version of The Grinch, which I’ll watch with my son, and my personal go-to is Love Actually. And I also loooove any and all holiday cookie baking / exchanging / etc. I’ve made this recipe before for a flourless cookie and liked them – the cinnamon makes it feel a bit seasonal to me πŸ™‚ https://www.foodiecrush.com/flourless-chewy-peanut-butter-cookies/

  5. I SO wish I had the Hallmark Channel! I’d really like to watch all the holiday movies. I still stream a fair amount of other holiday movies though and that reminds me that I need to get started on that to be able to see them all in the next couple of weeks!

  6. I love Christmas movies so much. Lol at not being the best wrapper – I’m the same don’t worry! I have one more gift to get and them I’m done! Everything else is wrapped and under the tree.

That candle sounds amazing. With summer here I still love lighting candles in the evening and found one called summer breeze. Looking forward to using it soon.

  7. I have wrapped precisely one gift because it’s for Jan and that way he can’t see what it is. Oh,and I wrapped my cousin’s birthday and Christmas gifts then sent them to New Zealand (her birthday is on 12th December). Other than that nothing is wrapped. I need to get on with that so I can figure out how much room all the gifts need in the suitcase!

  8. Wrapping is my least favorite part and I need to get on it!! I have to wrap for the husband, kids and we wrap all of our stocking stuffers for a game we play. I really need to try to wrap 3-4 gifts a day and then save the rest for the weekend before Christmas and then I won’t go crazy when I do have to wrap everything. LOL

  9. I love this time of year! I need to start wrapping, too. I’m so behind!

It’s not a holiday scent, but if you’re looking for an amazing candle, try Village Candle Warm Buttered Bread. It is one of my favorites!

  10. Cookie exchange sounds fun, although I just passed on a cookie walk fundraiser because I’m the only one with a sweet tooth and lack of willpower at my house. Didn’t want all those cookies to end up on my hips!

  11. I start out excited about wrapping and wind up throwing paper and tape at the last presents. We are just getting our tree up and then the wrapping can begin.

How did your cookie swap go? I hope to bake some before my family gets together. We are celebrating on the 27th when we can all be under one roof!

The swap went well! Most of the cookies were gluten free too – which was sweet of my friends! I made peanut butter cookies with a hershey kiss on top, and I got a recipe on Twitter for them to be gluten-free. SO GOOD.
