It’s another edition of Glossies Made Me Do It with Erica and Ashley (check out their posts today!) If you want to join us, let me know, and we can start adding a link-up. Glossies Made Me Do It takes part the first Friday of every month. You take a magazine from that month and share a new DIY, recipe, review, or idea that you found from it.
For this month, I used the February 2017 issue of Parents. Yes, I subscribe to Parents. There are a lot of great non-mom ideas – plus I have a lot of kids in my life and it’s fun to read things that might relate to them.
From this issue, I saw this little article called “Clever Ideas for Nail Polish” and I thought it would be fun to try one of these out! I got a mini bottle of orange nail polish for Halloween. I never used it but I figured it might be a good job for this idea!
I didn’t want to spoil all the ideas, but the one that I chose to go with is last on the list: Paint phone-charger ends so you’ll know whose is whose.
I don’t really have a problem keeping track of my phone charger, but I still really loved the idea. It adds a little fun to the charger and it will help me keep track of it if I go on vacation with my family – since we all have our own chargers.
You can see some of the white underneath, but it looks a little better in person. I might have to go back over it once it dries!
Here’s another shot of the charger with the nail polish that I used! I think this photo shows a side that’s a bit darker, which I love.
I think this was a really cool idea and I do recommend it for people that live with their family or roommates. Or you could just get some younger kids involved and they might enjoy “painting” with nail polish. If you want to know other ways to use nail polish, check out the February 2017 issue of Parents Magazine. It’s on sale now!
What do you think of this project? Have you used nail polish for anything other than painting nails?
This is such a cute {and simple!} idea for nail polish – I absolutely love it!
xx
Awww, that's a great idea! I never know what to do with some of my wacky nail polish colors — this is a great (and easy!) DIY project π Thanks for sharing, and have a great weekend!!
I've seen people decorate these with washi tape, but never nail polish! That is a cute and quick way to personalize them!

This is a really cool idea! The only think I ever used polish for, other than my nails, would have to be to stop a run in my pantyhose. (lol) That was way back in the day! Hugs…
I would never have though to use nail polish beyond its intended use actually, but when you think about it, it's a cheap way to add a bit of flare to things around the house. Now I'll be looking around the house on the weekend wondering what I can add a little paint trim to π
What a totally fun idea! There are so many power cables and chargers floating around my house this would be a great way to help keep them all straight. π
Ahh this is so cool! I'll have to do this to differentiate between my charger and my mom's! I've seen a lot of different Pinterest hacks like this, too. Glad to see they have great results π
I've seen stickers to cover the chargers but this is such a good idea!
Never thought to use nail polish!!
I covered mine with washi tape!!!
I bet it'll look even better with another coat!
That is such a great idea!
What a great idea! I'll have to try this!
So cute! What an easy way to personalize your phone chargers!

That does seem like a handy idea for people who are living with others or who may get their charger mixed up with someone else's. Thanks for sharing. π

What a great idea!! I need to do something like that for my chargers. I think nail polish, especially sparkly nail polish would totally look good. Thanks for sharing this idea!!
That's a pretty smart idea! Great way to personalize and accessorize!
This is a super cute idea! I used nail polish to paint the end of my house key. I think I did a pastel pink with gold glitter. I did a few layers of clear coat as well and it lasted a really long time!
That's such a nice idea! I used to paint my hair brush tips with nail polish, haha. Don't know why but I thought it looked cool! π

Oh that would be handy if you have multiples in the house π
That is brilliant! Fights are always breaking out over here, about whose is whose charger! I need to do this. STAT!
We are lucky over here because everyone has a different brand of phone haha. I know I've used nail polish for some random things here and there – usually the clear kind but I can't remember what for as of right now.
Boy how simple is that!?! And yet so effective and uncumbersome.
I painted my phone charger with glittery nailpolish to change it up too! π (Also made it so people wouldn't accidentally take mine, haha. π )
This is a great idea! We're forever getting our chargers and cords and such confused.
I've used clear nail polish to stop runs.
This is genius. Now maybe people will stop swiping my cube if I paint it hot pink. π

Oh my goodness! I would totally do this as a linkup, especially since I tend to be an article hoarder and never really act on suggestions! Count me in for a linkup!
Also, I used to get Working Mother magazine when I was a student in college and didn't have a child. These magazines have good ideas for everyone!

Very fun! We have a couple 'charging stations' that everyone shares, so stolen cords isn't much of an issue, but I do like the idea of making them fun and colorful. Nail polish is great for lots of things since the brush is so small and the paint dries so hard. Thanks for sharing at the #happynowlinkup!
This is such a fun idea. I could definitely benefit from this. I always get the old mangled ones (that I should throw out) or KC's when I look for one… I've also considered doing washi tape. I have an abundance of both things. hehe XO – Alexandra

Oh I miss having a subscription to this magazine. I let mine expire and completely forgot to renew! I'm going to have to see about it again through Amazon, thanks! π And that's such a cute idea! Plus I love your nail polish bottle with the pumpkin face, too adorable!
I might have to do this so the kids stop fighting over cords and chargers!
