October is my favorite month. Fall is my favorite season. Halloween is my favorite holiday. It’s a bit of an understatement to say that I just love this time of the year. I am excited to talk about Grandma’s House is Haunted by Stephen G. Bowling today. First off, I have an activity that you can do to go along with reading this book – and then you can enter the fun giveaway below!
Beyond the Book Activity: Halloween Gingerbread House
Who doesn’t love putting together and decorating a gingerbread house? Well, you don’t have to wait until the Winter holidays to do this. Halloween is also a great time to do it – because you can just decorate that house to look haunted!
You can make your own Gingerbread, buy a Halloween specific kit, OR you can find a Gingersnaps Reusable Gingerbread House like the one above. Easy to put together and you can use it for any and all holidays. Just grab some icing and Halloween candy and get to decorating. I know a lot of people don’t like eating the actual gingerbread anyway, so this is a much easier way to decorate your own Haunted House.
Need some ideas for decorating a Haunted “Gingerbread” House?
Use black and white icing
Grab some candy corn and pumpkins
Gummy worms would make a creepy addition to any house!
Pretzels and cookies can add harder structures
Black licorice
Candy eyes can peek out windows!
M&M’s and Skittles would make a nice pathway
Don’t forget some ghost Peeps to haunt your house.
What would you use to decorate a haunted house?
