Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco

Happy Halloween! This is my favorite holiday, so thanks for stopping by. I decided to review Kingdom of the Wicked today because it seemed like a good fit for Halloween. Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are witches who live in Italy. They have been told all sorts of stories by their grandmother growing up, but neither of them quite believed them. That is until Vittoria is murdered (not a spoiler – it’s in the official summary) and Emilia ends up meeting some of the Wicked – princes of hell – including Wrath, who she has been warned about her whole life.
I really liked this premise. I think the story of the Wicked are really interesting, and I liked getting to know a few of them. I’m particularly curious about Wrath and his true motives. I will say this book moved a bit slow for me. It definitely picked up as the book moved on though, which was a plus. I feel like the second book might be better since so much of the backstory has been set. We shall see though! This is the first in a trilogy and all books are out now.
Have you read this one? Do you enjoy Halloween? Leave a comment!
Thanks for the review. Have a wonderful Halloween!

This sounds like the perfect Halloween read – enjoy the holiday!
Sounds like fun Halloween read, even with the slow start.
I agree w/ the others- this sounds PERFECT for Halloween. So many books start out or move kinda slow for a while- glad this picked up!
This is my favorite holiday, too, so I always take note of books that are spine-chillers. I like to save them up for October.
Loving the cover, this sounds like a great read, I’m away to add it to my Wish List.
I really need to read something by this author! All the books sound good, this one included. I love Halloween as well. Although I was sick this year so didn’t get to go watch my niece and nephew trick or treat like usual. Great review!
I really need to read this one! I have the first two books in this series sitting on my shelf unread and I do love the sound of it.
