Commonwealth Sanctuary: Eden Sher Live!
This is the first time I’ve been to the Commonwealth Sanctuary but I will definitely be going back. It’s the only comedy club in Northern Kentucky and it’s housed inside an old church. It’s not very big, so even in the back, you get a good view of the performer. I recommend going early so you have plenty of time to order something to eat or even just some snacks. A lot of the food is made from a local catering business, which I loved. I highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Dip and Chips.
My friend, her husband, and I went in March to see Eden Sher live. If you don’t recognize the name – she played Sue Heck on The Middle. This is a one-woman show about her trying to find her own identity after playing Sue for so long, as well as her journey being pregnant and giving birth to identical twins. There are definitely some content warnings, so if you’re interested, let me know, and I’ll share what I can.
It was fun, emotional, and so so funny. She’s still on tour so I definitely recommend seeing if she’s coming near you. The show lasts about 80 minutes, and she did two in one night at my venue. One of the things that I loved is that the venue is in Northern KY, which is across the river from Cincinnati so she kept saying Northern KY/Cincy and basically recognizing the two places people would have come from for the show, instead of just automatically calling us Cincinnati.

We have a couple comedy clubs in the city and though it’s been a while since we’ve gone, it was always a good time. Ralphie May was probably my favorite. Glad you enjoyed the show!

Oh my gosh I loved her and that show! I would love to see her do comedy! I’m so jealous! Sounds like such a neat time. Thanks for sharing and now I’ll have to check and see if she comes anywhere near me.
