Local Tourist 2019: What fun local adventures did you get up to this past month? #localtourist #cincinnati #ontheblog Click To Tweet

The first week of February, Black Panther was re-released in AMC Theaters across the country, and you could go for free. You just needed to register for tickets (two per email/person). On Saturday, February 2, my mom, dad, and I all went to see the movie. My sister was supposed to go but she didn’t feel well. None of us had seen the movie yet so it was great to finally see it – and on the big screen too! These type of movies are always better in theaters, I think. I really enjoyed it!

On Saturday, February 16, my sister and I attended Day One of the 2019 AMC Oscar Showcase. We saw The Favourite, BlackKklansman, and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Saturday, February 23: My sister, a friend, and I all went to the Market Buffet at Belterra Park in Cincinnati. It’s a casino, but I just go for the buffet. Such great options and the price is good!

Since I usually share my library craft events as part of Local Tourist, I thought I’d show you these puzzle piece hearts that my mom and I made. It was fun, and I think they turned out really well.

  1. I STILL have not seen Black Panther, but I need to make it a priority. How fun that you got to go see it in the theater. I love how movies are re-released before the Oscars. My aunt lives in Las Vegas and is always raving about the buffets in the casinos and how inexpensive they are. This is definitely something I’m going to have to investigate further! 🙂

  2. Oh how cool! I really enjoyed Black Panther, and I’m not usually into superhero movies. My son loves them enough for both of us, and that was the first “real” superhero movie we let him watch. So good! I love your puzzle piece hearts!

  3. I love those puzzle piece hearts, they are so cute! I’m impressed by your movie marathon! That is awesome! I want to see all the Oscar nominated films I didn’t see yet.

  4. I still need to see Black Panther and while I agree those types of movies are best seen on the big screen I’ll probably wait until it’s up for rent/buy at home. The puzzle crafts are cute. 🙂

  5. I love this post Lauren. And it’s all at your hometown — it’s such a great idea to get out there and think of things you see every day differently/.

What a coincidence, but I just watched Black Panther with my daughter because she had never seen it. Love that movie!

I’ve said it before, but your hometown is a super cool place!
