Review: I saw this book on netgalley and I immediately knew I had to check it out, so I’m very excited that I was approved. If you’re familiar with my blog, you know I love a fun themed party. This book is aimed at younger girls (great if you have a daughter!) but there were still plenty of ideas that I could use for my own future parties.

I loved when the book finally got to breaking down various themed parties because they always included a favor idea, a recipe to make, and more. Some of the ideas that I really want to try out are the recipes because I think they are a lot of fun, regardless of age.

For example, the above photo shows you a couple of the party ideas for a ‘Stache Bash…which would also be great for boys! The bottom right hand corner even shows you how to make mustache cookies. How cute!

I also really liked the various drink recipes included for some of the parties, especially the signature drink for a Game Night.  It’s called Apples to Apples (in honor of the game) and here is the recipe:

1 bottle sparkling apple cider
1 cup (240 ml) cranberry juice
1/2 cup (120 ml) orange juice

Stir all ingredients together, and serve!

Easy enough and it sounds really good. The book also includes mini notes on some other themes that you could do, as well as some great party favor ideas. I don’t really do party favors that often for my own events (as I tend to forget) but I really like them and think they are a wonderful idea. The book also includes various decoration ideas, as well as how to make certain things like Pom Poms.

As this is targeted toward younger girls, there are various tips on budget, cleaning the house, making sure everyone is having fun, and even thank you notes for after the party. Of course these are all things that anyone might think about for a party, so you might just learn a thing or two!

  1. I wish I'd seen this a few days ago! We just hosted a baby shower on Saturday and our punch was NOT. GOOD. :/

Oh well! I'll tuck this away for next time!

  2. What a fun book for younger girls! I love these kinds of books and blogs that provide party inspiration! I don't have that many myself but when I do I love finding interesting unique ideas for food, decorations, activities. Thanks for sharing!
