The Taste of Bunbury

You didn’t think I was finished talking about Bunbury 2019, did you? My sister and I, courtesy of Bunbury, attended the music festival in Cincinnati, OHIO between May 31-June 2. Like most festivals, there is plenty of food and drinks to enjoy so I thought I’d share some of what my sister and I purchased and enjoyed!

The Taste of Bunbury 2019

Maui Wowi has always been at Bunbury, and I love their smoothies. My sister and I both got a different flavor so we could share. They were also selling flavored ice.

Hungry Bros. is a Cincinnati area food truck that I’m obsessed with. I always get the Kevin Bacon Ranch, which is waffle fries, chicken, ranch, and BACON of course! It’s so yummy and I definitely got it twice that weekend. Worth it!!

Island Noodles is another food option that has always been at Bunbury. I used to love this, but since I (mostly) avoid Gluten these days, I couldn’t eat it. My sister did, however, and she loved it like she always does.

Since I couldn’t have the Island Noodles, I was really excited to see another food stand that was selling something similar…but with rice instead of noodles. This is the Pineapple Teriyaki Rice Bowl and it was so so good.

Kroger was giving away free Sparkling Coconut Water all weekend. The above photo is the Watermelon flavor, which wasn’t too bad. My favorite was the Mango though. I’d definitely buy it in the future, so if you have a Kroger store around you, go look for these!

Kroger was also giving out free packs of nuts; pictured is the Sea Salt Caramel Cashews and mmm mmm so good.

Streetpops, or gourmet popsicles, is something that’s been around Cincinnati for a little while now. If there is some sort of outdoor event in the area, you will probably find Streetpops. My sister and I both got the Fruit Punch popsicle and it’s very good – nice and refreshing!

My sister got a grilled cheese from Doom Street Eats; I believe this one had Mac N Cheese inside of it. She really liked it!

That’s a Wrap!

Bunbury definitely has a great collection of food available. I didn’t include absolutely everything we ate over the weekend, but I figured this was a good idea of what’s there.

Tell me: do you see anything here you’d like to try? Have you eaten any of these items before?

  1. Kevin Bacon Ranch, I love it! So cheesy and fun! That macaroni and cheese toastie looks divine! Anything with cheese really and I’m completely sold. I’ve never had food truck food before but we have a local food truck fair coming up soon and after seeing your adventures, I’m super keen to try. It all looks so delicious Lauren, thank you so much for sharing!

  2. Pineapple teriyaki rice- oh my gosh that sounds so good. I love food trucks. 🙂 And Maui Wowie is the best. I love their smoothis.

I’m a sucker for sparkling water, and having it be free is even better.(lol) No cheeseburgers, but I could get with those smoothies for sure. Hugs, RO

  4. So much good food here and those smoothies look yummy! Good idea to get 2 different flavors and share. 🙂 There is a food truck event once a month and I’d love to go in the Fall (when it is cooler). We went a few years ago and (sadly) haven’t been back.

  6. Ohmygosh, your photos are making me so hungry right now. Mmmm… This is an awesome recap and speaks to my always-on-a-quest-for-good-eats heart 🙂 And yay for free samples from Kroger.

I’m so curious about the Vegan Musubi that’s written on that sign! What is that??!! I need to know, lol.

  7. We have a few of these types of festivals here in Oregon. They are fun to go to. That grilled cheese sandwich sounds delicious!
