The Wife App by Carolyn Mackler
copy for review; all opinions are my own
The Wife App is Carolyn Mackler’s adult debut and it was a pretty enjoyable contemporary fiction novel.
Three friends are tired of women and moms being tasked with the majority of the work in a family- especially the mental load. So they create an app where Wives (who can be women, men, nonbinary) are paid to take over these type of tasks – like applying to a bunch of preschools for your kid! 🖍
It’s definitely an interesting idea! Sure, mostly women are probably still doing these tasks through the app but they’re the ones ultimately in charge and getting paid for it. 💰 Not a bad gig!
I enjoyed this one, and I thought it was nice getting all three POVs. Each woman is a single mom but in various stages, so it was cool to see how they manage and navigate their lives. And I love some good female friendships in books!

Now there’s a concept… unload all the lame tasks that you don’t want to deal with. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed this one!
Sounds fun!
Love the concept behind this one – great review!
Ooh, that sounds like a great story! Thanks for sharing, I wasn’t sure what it was about although I’d seen this one around.
Fun idea for a story. Might as well get paid or get the break if you are on the other end,
