They Never Learn by Layne Fargo
personal copy; all opinions are my own

I absolutely adored this book. It’s a fast, suspenseful read that I definitely gave 5 stars to. It follows the POV’s of English professor, Scarlett Clark, and Freshman student, Carly Schiller. I really loved both perspectives. Scarlett is a professor with a secret – she murders men who have harmed women (rape, physical abuse, etc.) She believes she’s bringing down the justice that colleges, and the world at large, do not. Carly, as a new Freshman, is trying to make friends and finding that even the guys you least expect can be cruel.

They Never Learn is a mystery and thriller. It’s also LGBT+, which I love! It’s a quick novel that is sure to leave you turning the pages. I loved all the different mysteries that are revealed throughout the book. I assumed things as I read, and then the author flipped the assumption completely upside down – in a good way! I highly, highly recommend it.
