Thursday Thinker: Advanced Movie Copies

Posted January 23, 2009 by shooting in Uncategorized / 11 Comments

Today’s Thursday Thinker is about movies. Most book reviewers known by now that there are a such thing as ARC’s or Advanced Reader Copies, which is a book that will be released in the future…and yet you can get an early copy to read and review. Now, what if you were given Advanced Movie Copies or AMC’s? What would you want to see at the present moment?

For me, it would be Coraline (though I haven’t read the book yet and I know it’s coming out relatively soon, I’d love to see it early!), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (of course! It was supposed to be out already after all!)

I’d also really like to see I Love You, Man instead of waiting until March (I believe it comes out then.) I think it looks hilarious! Has anyone seen the trailer for it?

Anyway, your turn! Post your thoughts on the comments.

  1. I Love You, Man looks hilarious!

I’ve heard of writers(?) getting dvds to watch for voting for something, maybe Screen Actors Guild? That would be awesome!

  2. That would be really cool

I would also love to see watchmen, adventureland, fanboys, and a LOT of others 😀

  3. Alea: I know, doesn’t it? I saw the trailer and was immediately in love.

Yeah! I have heard of that. I think Meg Cabot got a bunch. That would definitely be amazing. I love movies.

Robin: I haven’t heard much about Fanboys, but it seems like a cool concept and oh yes, I’d like to see Adventureland as well. 🙂

But yes, so many great things coming out soon movie-wise.

Bookworm: Yes, I did think of New Moon, but I figured it’s still awhile….Harry Potter is MUCH closer! 🙂

  5. Hm, I did receive a couple of Naruto DVDs before they were released by the company but that was the first and last time that I did. Even though it’s still in theaters, I want to watch Bride Wars badly! Or Shopaholic!

  6. Lenore: Oh, I would imagine! Have you read the book? I haven’t…

Diana: Hey, even if it’s in theatres, I think it would count…you can’t buy it yet!!
    Shopaholic does look fun.
