Tune in Tuesday with Idina Menzel

Tune in Tuesday is brought to you by Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands

As most of you probably know, today is the DVD release of the movie Frozen. I’m so excited and I must get my hands on a copy ASAP. For today’s Tune in Tuesday, I wanted to honor Idina Menzel who is the voice of Elsa (and sings the amazing song “Let it Go”). I’ve been a fan of Idina’s for awhile now, and I’ve even seen her live, so I thought I’d share something a bit older than “Let it Go.”

“Take Me or Leave Me” from the musical RENT. The video below is the scene from the movie version!

“Take me for what I am
Who I was meant to be
And if you give a damn
Take me baby
Or leave me”

  1. Why is Idina Menzel such an amazing singer? Her voice is incredible and it gives me an inferiority complex, even though I have no desire to pursue a career like hers.

Anyway, I'm glad you're so excited about the DVD release of Frozen! Haha. It is such cute movie with great casting and impressive animation. I read your movie review, so I know you loved it and I hope you enjoy watching it again and again.

  2. Ahh I'm actually doing a duet for my singing recital and it's going to be Seasons of Love from Rent so I'm super excited about that 😀 And the fact that Idina sings in the musical makes it even more exciting because I've loved her ever since Let it Go 🙂

  3. You've seen her live?! JEALOUS. She is so, so so talented. I just love her voice and the roles she's originated are totally memorable and will live on. This reminds me that I also need to pick up a copy of Frozen!!
