Twilight Movie Review
By: Lauren
Warning: A couple quotes from the film are included…but nothing huge!!!
Well, I saw Twilight at Midnight last night and I must say that I thought it was wonderful. When books are made into movies, I never expect them to be the same and simply don’t make a big deal if things are missing or changed…but I must say that if you are one of those people, you shouldn’t find too much to complain about. A couple of my friends even admitted that it stayed very true to the novel.
For me, I simply loved it and can’t wait to see it again. I believe that for the amount of money they had, they made a great film.
Kristen Stewart is pure Bella. Clumsy and falling madly in love with what she shouldn’t want.
Robert Pattinson, in my mind, was amazing as Edward. He’s also really funny! (“Google it”)
Nikki Reed as Rosalie was definitely “anti-Bella” and you really see it when Bella first meets the whole family.
Peter Facinelli played a great Carlisle. I think he definitely felt like a very kind, fatherly character and his interactions with Edward are great.
Kellan Lutz as Emmett was just hilarious in his role. I’m definitely excited to see more of him.
Jackson Rathbone, as Jasper, was really funny…funny, you say? Yes, funny. Remember, if you’ve read the books, Jasper has the hardest time out of all the Cullens being around humans.
Ashley Greene as Alice was adorable and sweet and simply a perfect Alice. I loved the graceful way she pitched the baseball during the family’s game…it looked like she a ballet dancer was playing.
I don’t know the name of the guy who plays Charlie, but he was awesome! I think they picked a great person for that part…and you’ll definitely want to see his first meeting with Edward.
Cam as James and the rest of the “bad” vampires are phenomenal and I love the bigger role they were given in the movie to build up the film’s suspense.
As for the humans…Mike Welch as Mike Newton, Justin as Eric, Anna as Jessica, Christian as Angela, and again, don’t know the name…but the guy who played Tyler…were all great. My sister said it best when she commented that their interactions with each other were just perfect. They honestly seemed like they were all friends and it was always fun to see them on the screen….definitely added a lot of the humor as well! (“The one who looks like he’s always in pain is Jasper”-Jessica)
Again, I loved the film and I really really want to see it again and probably will two or three more times with various friends and family members. It’s a fun movie with romance, action, and humor. If you’ve read the books, I hope you like it (and remmeber…this is not the book played out on screen, but it’s still true to the heart of it) and if you haven’t, go and enjoy this great film perfect for the Holidays.
So, have you seen it? What do you think? If you haven’t, comment on the review or just leave your thoughts!!!
Well, I guess my friends won’t be disappointed then. =)
Diana: hahah I certainly hope not at least!

I went to see it last night with my daughters and their friends and I totally agree with everything you said. I love how not only did the movie capture the essence of the book and portray it faithfully, it added more to it. The field trip scene is a good example. And some of the lines were just fabulous. I think this movie is going to end up being a phenomenon that seals the genius that is Stephenie Meyer. Oh, yeah, the actors weren’t bad, either. 😉
AHH!!!!! OMG, it was spectacular!!!
Margay: hahah I loved the actors too! And I’m so glad you enjoyed the movie. I know some people didn’t…but I honestly think they did a great job.
The field trip scene IS great. It was a fun and humorous addition that really shows Edward and Bella’s relationship in the beginning.
Kelsey: I KNOW!!!!!! 🙂

Can’t wait to see it–it’s been a crazy week :-/
Brooke: Aw, sorry about that, but I hope you get to see it soon!
I’ve been listening to the books in audio format. Just getting ready to start Eclipse. I’ve been listening/reading the reviews of the movie and am hearing mixed opinions. You make it sound really good though! Not sure if I’ll get to the theatre to see it, but will watch it in the future for sure.
Luanne: I know what you mean about the reviews. There really is a lot of mixed reviews, but I think the informal ones, like blog reviews, are more positive then the big name reviews.
I hope you like it when you get to see it! 🙂

I want the dvd now so i can watch the baseball scene over and over again!
Alea: i know what you mean. that was definitely a favorite scene of mine, and I loved that they used the Muse song for it! It just worked so well.
