3 Life Hacks That Actually Work!
I’m sure we’ve all heard about various “life hacks” to make our lives easier, but have you ever tried any of them? Or are you left wondering if they really work? Here are 3 life hacks that I’ve come across that I can tell you actually do work – try it for yourself!
Get Rid of Ink Stains
Have you ever been using a pen and realized you had ink stains all over your hands? Just spray the ink with hairspray and wash your hands with water! Voila! The ink disappears. This is one of those life hacks that pretty much anyone could use!
Keep Bananas Fresh Longer
Fresh fruit is notorious for going bad quick, but if you want to make your bananas stay fresher for a little longer…pull them apart! I know there are tons of stands where you just hang the bananas from them, but don’t do this! Pull them apart and just keep them in a bowl and they will stay fresher a bit longer!
Stop Hiccups – Quick!
I don’t think I’ve ever met a single person who said they liked getting the hiccups. I don’t get them too often anymore, but I have found myself randomly waking up with them and they’re so annoying!. If you’re dealing with the hiccups, eat a spoonful of peanut butter. Seriously! When I get them, I just spoon out some peanut butter, eat it, and that’s it. No need to wait – they are immediately gone. This is seriously one of my most favorite – and most used – life hacks.
Have you tried any of these life hacks before? How did they work for you? Share your own hacks in the comments!
Oh that’s interesting with the bananas. I read that if you wrap cling wrap around the stems, they’ll stay fresh longer. What does the pulling them apart do?
I’ve always wondered that about bananas, totally going to try it!
I am going to have to try these!!! I did not know that about the bananas! Or the peanut butter!
I will happily eat peanut butter if I have the hiccups!
I just bought bananas… heaading to pull them apart!
Keeping the peanut butter thing in mind!
I’ve found that eating something helps my hiccups go away.
I didn’t know that about bananas, and the hiccups are the worst! I’ll definitely use both tips. Ink stain one too, but I’ve used rubbing alcohol and had some success.
The first two hacks were familiar to me but I didn’t know the one about the peanut butter. Glad to have another reason to eat peanut butter. I get the hiccups when I eat spicy Chinese food!!
You’ll have to let me know how the peanut butter works for you. It makes mine go away every.single.time.
I knew the first one (former science teacher), but not the other two. They are locked in my memory for future use.
I’d rather deal with hiccups than eat peanut butter! lol.
Bananas don’t last long enough in our house to go brown… And we’re weird and each like them at different ripeness. 🙂 It’s a good trick though, I’ll suggest that one to my mum.
I’ll be trying that with the bananas. I’ve never heard that before!
Why have I never tried the banana one before??!! I am totally doing this 🙂
I get the hiccups all of the time and the peanut butter trick really works! I’m going to try separating my bananas! Thanks for sharing!

It’s such a good trick, isn’t it? I wake up with hiccups sometimes and this works for me every time.
Uhm, I kind of want to get hiccups now so I can try that trick! And the banana trick is excellent! I always wait for them to get extra brown for banana bread but I have some that really desperately need to be used ASAP!!
Let me know how the peanut butter works for you when you DO get hiccups. It works fantastic for me!
ANY excuse to eat peanut butter is a good one for me! And I’m going to have to try the banana trick. Mine ALWAYS go bad. Thanks for the tips 🙂
This is the first I’ve heard of the banana hack. Will definitely try it next time I buy bananas.
I’ve heard, and started doing, wrapping a bit or plastic (like saran wrap) around the top stem of the bananas to keep them lasting longer and it seems to work.
For hiccups, I eat a little sugar – gross, I know! but it’ always works. lol

What a brilliant list especially the banana one.
I haven’t ever heard of the peanut butter trick, that’s amazing! I have a tried and true method that works for our family….if we get them we drink water upside down. You bend over at your waist all the way, tip the cup away from you and drink with your head upside down. I don’t know why it works but it does lol! Gotta try the peanut butter next time though, I love peanut butter!
I’ve never heard of that, but that’s awesome – thanks for sharing. I hope the peanut butter trick works well for you too!
I’m going to have to try all of these especially the hiccup hack. The ink hack will come in handy too, thanks so much for sharing!
OK! I have never thought about using peanut butter for hiccups, but now I can’t wait to get them to try this LOLL>
