I’ll be linking up this Wednesday with Anne at In Residence for her monthly Currently series
I have a couple posts that I have to get up in the next two days, so I figured I’d go ahead and do my Currently post now. Link-up opens on Wednesday so feel free to join in!
Currently: April 2021
Arranging: my Alice in April posts. All month long I’ll be sharing some fun Alice in Wonderland themed giveaways.
You can win a really cute Alice in Wonderland Note Card Set right now, but be on the look out for more in the days and weeks to come. I know at least one will be International! Honestly, I wish I could enter all of these so hopefully you will enjoy them too.
Craving: more beautiful Spring days. It was so nice out yesterday for Easter day. I spent most of it on my porch just reading. I love the days where it’s not too cold and not too hot. There aren’t usually a ton of them, so I’m craving more before the cicadas all come out (ewww!) and it’s way too hot to just sit outside without being in a pool.
Discussing: the book Called Upon by Bethany Lee. I finished this over the weekend and really enjoyed it! The main reason I’m discussing the book though is because throughout the end of April you can get a paperback copy for 60% off the listing price. That’s over HALF off for a physical book. Isn’t that awesome?
Just visit Bethany Lee’s website and use the code LAUREN60 when you purchase. I’d love to know if you grab a copy!
Enjoying: my trips through Etsy stores. I’m a bit obsessed with Etsy in general, but I’ve been on the website a lot lately for my Alice in April giveaways – and for a fun theme I’ll be doing in May (more on that to come).
I find the best gifts there too, so I highly recommend using Etsy more in the future. You can get some really cute, one-of-a-kind items and who doesn’t love that?!
Preparing: for my dance recital in May. I pretty much have the first dance down. We are almost finished with the second one, and then I really need to get that one in the ole’ brain! If you’re new to my blog, I take an adult tap dance class. I’m excited for the recital, though I’ll be a bit less nervous once I feel more secure in the dances. (The photo above is from my 2019 dance recital).
So fun that you’ll be in the recital!
Oh, reading outside…
How fun to have an Alice in Wonderland month!! And hooray for an international giveaway!
I hope you have lots of fun in your recital too;
I’m jealous of everyone’s nice spring weather. It’s almost 100 here in Phoenix, and I’m dreading summer, lol. We try to plan our vacations in the summer to escape the heat.
I fall down the Etsy rabbit hole a LOT. There’s so much to see and I love finding unique items.
We finally had a good Spring day yesterday, so hubby, the kids and I, got our backyard all cleaned up in preparation for Summer! Can’t wait.
Good luck with your recital! That sounds exciting. 🙂
I love etsy for gifts too, especially for hard to gift people. And Alice in April sounds like so much fun! I’ll be following!
Dance recital… HOW FUN IS THAT!!!!
We are going to need a photo or 10 or 12 of you in this year’s dance recital. So proud of you. So exciting!! You looked lovely in the 2019 photo. Can’t wait for the update.
I love Etsy. And could easily spend too much money over there every month. Best graphic tees!!
I spent most of my Easter outside enjoying the weather too. I really hope the warm weather is here to stay. That’s so cool that you’ll be taking part in a dance recital. I hope you have fun with it. 🙂
Wish you all the best with your recital!
Spring is definitely my most favorite season and definitely when I usually get a lot of reading done because I’m always outside sitting in the sun.
I could go crazy going through Etsy stores! So much I want! lol. I love when you share specific stores though, it keeps me from doing to much myself where I will overspend. I’m looking forward to getting to be outside more this month!
You look so good in that recital picture. I hope the prep is going well. I want more spring days too. I am happy to have the windows open once again after that little cold snap we had.
I would love to take tap! I don’t think they have adult classes around here. I need to look into that one day. Have fun with your recital!
I am with you, I love this weather. Not too cold, not too hot. Just right.
And I am obsessed with Etsy.
That’s so cool that you get to be in a recital. I’ve taken adult ballet but we’ve never had recitals 🙂 And I am so wanting some more really nice spring days.
It is a lot of work to remember those dance routines! My daughter does competitive dance and she is in about 4 dances this year, but some of these girls are in 20 or so and I don’t know how they remember them all!

An Easter Day reading on the porch sounds JUST RIGHT. Good luck with the recital! (Tap is the BEST, if you ask me.)
I love the sound of “Alice in April” – what a great theme. And so exciting to have a tap recital coming up – makes me want to get out my shoes. Have fun!
Have the best of time dancing…tapping away at your recital! What fun!!
You are so cool for taking an adult tap class! I’m excited for your recital! And this weather has been amazing!
I also love those days where it’s warm, but not too hot yet. here we haven’t had many nice spring days yet and we even had some snow this week. That sounds fun you’re taking dance classes and I hope your recital goes well.
I love Alice in Wonderland! Will definitely be checking out your giveaways. And enjoy dance prep 🙂
How exciting about your upcoming recital! I hope it goes well! Great giveaways too!
I took an adult tap class when I was in high school (they didn’t have a beginner class with my age group) and I just LOVED it. Tap was more my speed than jazz or ballet ever were and the ladies I danced with were all fantastic!! I came down with mono in the very early spring leading up to our dance recital and had to miss a whole bunch of lessons since it’s dangerous to do physical activity with mono. They all got together for extra practices to teach me and bring me up to speed. I have some of the best memories dancing with those ladies.
