What was the last book you bought?

The last book someone bought FOR me was High School Confidential by Jeremy Iversen. I’m trying to think of the last one I bought myself, but I’m not sure…

Name a book you have read MORE than once

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (I love it. Read it…three times so far, I think.)
Of Mice and Men (read it twice)
More then this, but there are two!

Has a book ever fundamentally changed the way you see life? If yes, what was it?

I don’t think so. I mean, I’m sure I learn a lot through all the books I’ve read, but I can’t think of any ONE that made me see life in a new way.

How do you choose a book? eg. by cover design and summary, recommendations or reviews

I get a lot of ideas from bloggers book reviews. If I’m in the store, the title or cover usually makes me pick up a book for the first time though.

Do you prefer Fiction or Non-Fiction?

I love memoirs, and things of that nature…but I suppose Fiction more.

What’s more important in a novel – beautiful writing or a gripping plot?

For me? Probaly a gripping plot that keeps me reading. Beautiful writing is great when you find it though!

Most loved/memorable character (character/book)

Oh gosh, I don’t know! Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower just because I always empathized with a lot of his thoughts.
Umm…Miles from Looking for Alaska because I would have loved to have him as a friend.

Which book or books can be found on your nightstand at the moment?

To be read next? Dead is the New Black, In Your Room, Life After Genius…

What was the last book you’ve read, and when was it?

I’m almost finished with Eyes of Crow, but the last one I DID finish…I think it was The Elite by Jennifer Banash…almost a week ago, I think?

Have you ever given up on a book half way in?

Yeah, I have. I never finished this one called The Toy Seller or something…and others too, I’m sure.

I’ve been meaning to read The Perks of Being a Wallflower for awhile (actually it’s probably been a few years by now). I like this meme, hopefully some more bloggers will fill it out!

  2. pepsivanilla: if you go to the actual booking through thursday site, there are links to a ton of bloggers who filled this out. Do you need the link?

Definitely read Perks. I love it. A favorite of mine for sure!

Alea: I’ve read most of it, but then it got sent back to the library before I finished it, so now that I own it, I’ll have to start over. It’s very good!!!

  3. I’ve been giving up on books halfway all the time before I made a book blog! Now I force myself to read it so I can review it later online. Now I simply have too many books waiting for me to start and finish…

  4. diana dang: I know what you mean. I definitely try and finish all the books so I can review them nowadays…but my TBR pile is hugeee!

thebookworm: Very true! I won’t read it unless it sounds good, but covers always help when just simply browsing…that’s why I feel bad when authors don’t get that great of covers for their books!

  5. I have to admit to putting books down halfway through a few times – if the writing simply does not captivate me, I can’t deal with it. But more importantly, if the characters are just not accessible, I give up on the book as a whole.
It’s good to hear there’s a whole website section on this and I will definitely be checking it out here in a few!
