Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo
Clap When You Land is the third book I have read by Elizabeth Acevedo. I liked it and thought it was done well, though With the Fire on High is still my favorite.
This book focuses on two teen girls who live vastly different lives. However, they do have the same father- something that is revealed to them when that father dies in a tragic plane crash. ✈️
The book is told in verse, which I know isn’t for everyone. I think Acevedo does a wonderful job working in this medium though. It certainly helps capture the variety of emotions. 💙

I wish I could do the books in verse like this, but I just can’t. And I want to read this author so bad! But I know I have students who love this so I can share it with them. Thanks for sharing!
Same. I’ve loved all her books but With the Fire on High is still my fave. Her audiobooks are what got me into verse though. I loooove listening to her.
