I’ve already introduced you all to my friend Rachel behind Magical Moments Baking. She’s doing weekly Disney Dinner & a Movie nights for her family, and I’m here to finally share a couple of the movies she’s focused on. Be sure to read Rachel’s interview if you want to know more, and continue on here to see my first post detailing some of her movie nights! There will definitely be more posts to come, as I’m hoping to do two movie night ideas a post.

Disney Movie Dinner Menu: Dumbo

•Palmiers (elephant ears) and Palmier Ice Cream Sandwiches- Strawberry Shortcake with Strawberry Sauce or Salted Caramel and Chocolate Pecans

•Circus Snack Mix- Kettle Corn popcorn, circus animal cookies, circus peanuts (various flavors), and pretzels

•Salted Soft Pretzels with Stone Ground Whole Grain Mustard (and that plasticy cheese sauce for my husband)

•Corn Dogs

•Pineapple chunks

Disney Movie Dinner Menu: The Sword in the Stone

Rachel Says: Every single item in this meal was baked, and every item was based off an old Medieval recipe to go with the movie!

•Roasted turkey breast with fresh herbs (eating a whole turkey leg like they do in the movie is gross to me)

•Root vegetables and mushrooms

•Poached spiced pears

•Walnut and goat cheese tarts

•Honey Cakes

I hope you enjoyed a look at these Disney Dinner and a Movie themed nights. I love that Rachel does classic Disney films and more modern ones – we’ll get a bit more modern in the next post! If you want to follow Rachel on Facebook, please do so – Magical Moments Baking. If you decide to do your own Disney Dinner & a Movie Nights, with any Disney film, please let me know and I’d love to see what you came up with!

What’s your favorite Disney film? Are you a fan of either Dumbo or The Sword in the Stone?

What a cool idea and a great way to enjoy a movie, and I love it so much! These recipes sound so unique and different. As much as I love the recipes, I have to say that I was NOT a fan of the updated Dumbo movie, but I loved the original. Sword and the Stone is a classic! Hope all is well1 Hugs, RO

  2. This is such a cute idea! ?
I would totally make and eat those Dumbo Palmiers and the Walnut and goat cheese tarts for the Sword and the Stone. I watched both of these movies at a young age. I should rewatch Sword and the Stones since I really don’t remember that movie. My favorite for the longest time is Beauty and the Beast but I think Mulan is probably the best Disney movie out there. I wonder what I’d make for a Mulan movie dinner night.
I looked at Rachel’s Facebook and the Winnie the Pooh night would be so much fun to do. I loved the show when I was a kid. That theme song was perfection!

  3. I must admit that I’m not even a little bit of a fan when it comes to Dumbo or The Sword in the Stone, I think they’re two of the worst. That said, I love the idea of Disney dinners!

My favourite Disney movies are Moana, Lilo and Stitch and Beauty and The Beast. 🙂

  4. This is so cool! I haven’t seen Dumbo in ages and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Stone. What a fun idea! Can’t wait to see more of these…

  5. This is such a fun idea! I love the palmiers for Dumbo too, yum! I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Sword in the Stone though.

  6. Ooo, this is such a cute idea! 😀 Dumbo made me sad. :[ I love kettle corn and strawberry shortcake! I watched Sword in the Stone wayyy too long ago so I can’t say I remember much.

I’m not sure what my favorite Disney movie was–possibly Lion King or Mulan. I wanna try doing themed movie nights now too! 😛
