Linking up with Anne for Currently and Kristen for What’s New With You?
I hope the beginning of March is treating you well. I celebrated my mom’s birthday on Sunday, and we had a lovely dinner at my brother and sister-in-law’s house. The last couple of days have been pretty rainy, but I’m hoping today will be a bit better. I’m hoping for some warmer days – I don’t like it too hot, but it’s been cold and wet long enough!
Fixing: Hmm…this is a tough prompt. I’m so curious what other people are going to say they are fixing. I guess I ‘fixed’ my cat’s vet appointment. It’s later this month (I had to switch days, hence “fixing”), and it’s the first time I’m bringing him in so I’m a little nervous. I hope he doesn’t get too upset!
Hearing: Cam’s song “Diane” which is kind of a flipped “Jolene” (you know, the Dolly Parton song). Cam takes on the persona of the other woman, and it’s SO GOOD. I shared the video in my February Favorite Things if you’re curious.
Borrowing: Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman from the library. It’s my YA for Adults book club pick for March. I haven’t started it yet, so I really need to get on that. Has anyone read this? What did you think? It’s not what I’d normally pick up, so we’ll see.
Feeling: A bit sluggish really. I was supposed to go to tap dance last night, but I had a headache and ended up missing. I have cardio hip hop tonight though. I definitely need to start moving more. I’m thinking of going back to the gym – a friend of mine goes there, so it would be some motivation at least.
Recommending: Two TV shows that I’m loving. I don’t keep up with a ton of TV, and I’m such a bad binge watcher because I can’t focus for too long. However, there are two new-ish shows on TV right now that I’m loving – Prodigal Son and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. These are very different from each other, but I love them both!
What’s currently new with you?
Vengeance Road is such a fun read! Not one that I typically pick up because of the genre, but that cover drew me in. I hope that you enjoy it as well. 🙂
Zoey’s seems like it could be really good or really…campy. And while some people like that, it’s definitely my my favorite. Glad to see you’re enjoying it though. Maybe I’ll try it!
Great post. Currently I am feeling relaxed and I am hearing the television in the background.
I’ve been meaning to watch Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist – it looks like fun!
Hey friend, go to dance and just do what you feel like doing. You will be so glad you did.
Glad to read your thumbs up on Prodigal Son and Zoey. Have seen both advertised. Will check them out. We get stuck watching news all night which is soooo depressing.
Glad you were able to celebrate your mom’s b’day with family. I am hoping to hit up Melting Pot this weekend. How ’bout you?
I actually went to The Melting Pot too for my mom’s birthday. We love it there.
I didn’t know what to say for fixing either, lol! Sorry to hear about your headache!
Love Prodigal Son! It’s so good. I need to catch up though, I’m a few episodes behind.
“Fixing” was my toughest prompt, too! I had a little giggle, thinking that you were actually bringing your cat in to be neutered. AKA Fixed 🙂 Good luck with it!!
Oh wow – I had no idea there were prompts for these things! I just rambled off ones that popped in my head. haha.
That said, I’m digging yours, and taking your recommendation to watch Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist to heart. I wish I’d thought of that concept first!
I haven’t done this one yet because I was struggling with the prompts other than fixing because I feel like that’s ALL I’m doing lol and I’m sick of boring everyone with it at this point.
I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. I’m struggling for motivation but I’ve been making myself do at least 10 minutes of yoga/cardio/weights/stretching…just something.

I am loving Zoey’s playlist.. give me anything musical & I’m already fully into it!
Haha, I picked the words and even I didn’t know what to do with that “fixing” prompt. And I love this idea of a YA bookclub for adults! Got to go check out that title now since it’s new to me…
I love Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist! It is such a fun show! I had a hard time on the fixing prompt too though we had some car repairs recently so I used that, ha! I hope your kitty does ok at the vet! Bring a blanket that smells like home, sometimes that helps! 🙂
I am there with you on the sluggishness. Me too! I am trying, but February kicked my bum and March has gone all crazy already. Really like that song Diane!
I thought Vengeance Road was okay. I didn’t love it but i liked it enough to read more of her stuff. 🙂
Happy birthday to your mom!!!
Fixing is an odd prompt. You made it work though, lol. Sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling sluggish lately. I hope you’re feeling better now.
I have been feeling sluggish as well. Some days it’s such a chore to exercise. Not how it used to be for me but I’m trying to work through it. I hope you do as well! Give yourself grace, friend!
Happy belated birthday to your mom!
I’d say I’m fixing to do our taxes. lol That’s a southern way of saying things. I’m going to look up Diane.
Fixing appointments is so annoying. I hope your cat does okay!
I love when I can find a good show to binge watch. Currently, we don’t really have one.
I am going to check out that song! I love Dolly and Jolene so it sounds neat!
I don’t know what I would say for fixing!
I have been so tired lately. I blame February.
I feel you on needing to move more! I have been slacking on my workouts lately.
Cardio Hip Hop – you really are ambitious with “getting moving”!! I feel sluggish (and lame) just thinking how impossible that would be for me!
I hope you made it to cardio hip hop, and good for you making a plan to get back to the gym. I know I need to get more active.
I was chuckling as I read your “fixing” prompt, lol. That was a tough one. 🙂
I hope you feel better soon! I hate that low energy feeling. And I agree, “fixing” would be hard to come up with, but yours was good!
We have just started watching Prodigal Son – I think we’ve seen 2 or 3 episodes – it is quite hectic!
I love that you tap dance. I need to join something like that. But I get the sluggish feeling lately myself as well. Hope you get to feeling better!
I have seen ads for Zoey’s playlist, and it looks like such a fun show. Thanks for the recommendation!
I hope it gets warmer where you are soon! I need to get back to the gym again soon too.
I’ve heard great things about Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist–I need to watch it soon!
I love the Diane song! Jolene tells a wonderful story so getting a reverse sentiment is fun. 🙂 Hadn’t heard of the artist before this either!
hope the vet appointment goes/went well! when i took one of my cats, i thought she’d hate it but she did really well except for the car ride. didn’t do so well in that lol (she was on my lap and i had to shower when i got home lol). Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is on my list!
The vet went well! with all the lockdowns though, I couldn’t go in with him but I THINK he did okay. He wasn’t really a fan of the car either though. haha
