Mish Mosh Box Review + Giveaway

Buy Your Own Mish Mosh Box

The item that I recieved to review was the Mish Mosh box for boys, aged 3-6, which you can see the photo above. There are is also a box for girls of the same age and a boy and girl box for 7+. I must say, this is one great idea. Are you ever tired of seeing younger kids these days playing on phones, ipods, laptops, and all sorts of other electronics we never had growing up? (or at least didn’t spend most of our time on them…) Yeah, it’s a bit weird, and personally, I think it’s important to play with things that don’t involve batteries.

A Mish Mosh box is a nostalgic case of some fun toys and items to entertain kids without having to resort to a computer game. I love the box as it’s pretty sturdy material and it reminds me of an old fashioned suitcase. It has a little handle to hold it, and has a clasp to keep it shut. As a forewarning for the lower age (I’d say 3 or so) there is some plastic string, if you will, that covers the toys inside. You just have to pull it all out before giving it to a younger child if you think they will try and eat it though.

Beyond that little note…what a box! My mom and dad were “oohing” and “awwing” over the various items, spotting things they enjoyed in their childhood. Some basics were a potato head toy, clown nose, paddle ball, a tiny etch a sketch, a small slinky, some playing cards, and even crayons to do some coloring. Those are just some…as you will find more in your box if you buy one. I don’t want to spoil ALL the surprises in the review though.

While the boxes are about $30 each, I don’t find it too high of a price…you get a variety of toys and items for the child to play with plus a cute box that they can keep everything in and even place new items in as they use up some of their toys. AND you can get refill kits for boys and girls for only $10 if they do wish to add more fun items to their box from the store.

The Mish Mosh box is being included in the baby posts because I think it would be a great gift for those older brothers and sisters. Maybe you’re pregnant or know someone who is or has a little one, but this isn’t their first? Well, you don’t want to leave the older child out…as they might get a bit jealous…so this is something to keep in mind for them.

Overall, I’d say this is a really cute idea and I’m definitely going to keep it in mind for a future gift. I have a few little ones in my life right now…they just need to get a bit older!

Note on the Giveaway Prize: I actually have this at my house right now and honestly, I wish it was mine. It’s a cute little bag filled with lots of essentials that you would need as a girl. It’s great they have a boy version as well. This would make a great gift for people going out of town, going to a sleepover, etc. Perfect for older women as well. I don’t think it needs to just be for teens! You can see the various bags, plus the items included in the link above!

  2. I just love the nostalgia factor and I think when you get down to it most kids are more into the simplicity of the toys like we grew up playing with.
