Sleep Tight, Anna Banana! by Dominique Roques, Illustrated by Alexis Dormal
Review by Lauren

Official Summary: Anna Banana can’t settle down tonight, even though her stuffed animal
friends are tired and just want to sleep. They suffer through delay
after delay and excuse after excuse, until Anna Banana is finally
sleepy. And then . . . it’s time for their revenge! Anna Banana is about
to get a taste of her own medicine.
Review: This is the first picture book published by First Second Books (who do graphic novels) and I have to say it’s quite adorable! Anna loves to read and doesn’t want to stop doing so even though it’s time for bed. However, all her stuffed animals are tired and just want her to turn out the lights and be quiet. By the time Anna is ready for her bed, all her stuffed animals make sure she knows what it’s like to be tired, yet disrupted by noise.

Sleep Tight is a really cute book and it would be an original choice for the little ones in your life who hate bedtime! One of the things that I love about this particular book is that it’s done by a mom and son (mom writes, son draws). It definitely adds a little something extra to the book; makes it more special, if you will.
The story is cute and something to relate too, but the illustrations are also really well done. I loved how each of the stuffed animals were a bit different personality wise and they all had their own, kid-esque names. It was fun to see their various reactions and facial expressions throughout the book. The story might not be that long, but it would be a fun one to go through slowly because of the artwork.
Such a lovely book, Lauren! I love picture book for the sake of admiring the beautiful artwork only, and the artwork of this book is certainly cute! I think this book can be a perfect gift to little girls who love reading! <3 Thanks for sharing! 🙂
You're right, it looks really cute. And I'm sure it's something easy and fast to read.
The illustrations are so adorable – I love!!

Aww this sounds adorable! I love those illustrations!
I haven't heard of this one but out of all picture books this one sounds the best! I love the fact that it's done by mom and son and it seems like a great tandem. Great review, Lauren 🙂
This sounds like a great, adorable read! I don't read picture books, but I'll definitely keep it in mind for young children who might enjoy it!

I totally need to read this with my kids. I read every night to my kids and it is hard to find good fun children's books believe it or not. This sounds great.
This looks cute and the story sounds solid. I would love to read it.
How adorable! My daughter looks like Anna (lol) and would adore this. Thanks for the review, Lauren!
That's too cute!
I don't have kids but I find myself reading more of these children's books as I get older.
