She though it was an escape…but she might be trapped forever.

Rayne cant wait to get away—from the stifling heat of summer in London, from her controlling older boyfriend, Damian, from the tiny apartment she shares with her mother and little brother. So when she finds a job at a secluded country estate, Rayne jumps at the chance to escape.

But as soon as she arrives, her retreat feels like another prison. The ancient estate is suffocating, filled with spooky relics and a strange energy that seems to surround her everywhere she goes. Rayne wants to believe it’s all just her imagination, but as she spends more time in the country she becomes more convinced that there’s something out there…something that wants her to stay…forever.

Review:

When I heard that Kate Cann had a new book coming out, I got extremely excited. I love her other books and always reread them. So when Nancy told me she had her newest book, Possessed, I freaked out and had to borrow it.

This book was ok, I liked it, but at the same time I didn’t like it. Sometimes I liked Rayne, and other times I didn’t. For instance, all of her lying really bugged me. And, I never really felt like her boyfriend was overprotective.

I couldn’t stand St. John and his crowd. They annoyed me. So I can’t say I was too surprised with what happened, but there was one thing about St. John I didn’t really see coming.

I liked all of the characters that lived at the house and Ethan. The background mystery was really interesting—definitely spooky and creepy.
