Review: The Sunbearer Trials

The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas

This is the first book I’ve read by Thomas, but it won’t be the last. It is definitely The Hunger Games meets Percy Jackson. I loved the trans representation, especially with the main character, Teo. I thought the world was fascinating and I loved the diversity. I do think the book was a bit slow to start, but it gets better as you go, and I cannot wait for book two. This is a duology, so if you aren’t a big fan of book series, I’d still recommend you check this out.

Sunbearer Trials ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, and it had a twist at the end that I didn’t see coming at all. It made me a bit mad/sad, but I think it works and I can’t wait to learn more.

  1. This one’s been on my list because of a “if you like the Hunger Games, you’ll like this” recommendation but I haven’t had the chance to read it yet! Hopefully soon! :]
